What's the effect of using a ball drilled for a lefty?  Just curious...

Mainly depends on the distance between the pin and your PAP.  --  JohnP

Mostly depends on the layout.  If the lefty ball is drilled with the pin centered and cg stacked, then it would have little effect.

Middle finger hole will probably be too small.  Ring finger hole will probably be too big.  Thumb pitch will probably be different.  Otherwise, it all depends on Pin to PAP.  Sometimes a "lefty" ball is normal for a right-handed bowler.  Most of my equipment is layed out "for a lefty" since the pin placement is generally around the middle finger instead of the ring finger due to my PAP.
