Sorry guys for the (nevermind!) I had to upload pics to WTDR!

Bowling kid-> you really like to bust my rump--> J/K !!!!

I droped off my new Columbia Drive to my driller and asked him to drill it for max flare... Well I get back over there and he has this(look at pic)... I got me a lane to try it out. Wasn't happy with the way it looked already... Threw it--> it might of covered 5 boards--->6-pin. My hands were on my hips.. tried different speed, move left, move right.. Not very impressed at all... None off my other equipment is layed out like this. What to do?

Hello Dave
This ball will not do what you want it to do.
Why did your driller drill this ball this way ????
Sounds like he does not know what he is doing ???
If you knock down 10 pins always smile,no matter how they fell. An X on the 1st ball is 1 step closer to 300.

Well, I decided to give a try in league tonight... BIGGEST mistake I could have ever made. Didn't even break 500. Ball (layout) is a huge disappointment . My teammates are not very happy with my performance tonight. I felt like I wasted there $. If no one wants this ball it's being plugged and redrilled... Thanks for everyones help...dave

D, is that the X-hole on the right side and is that cg on the left side? also is that pin about 4 1/2" above the Midline.  I hope your rev rate is around 650.

I know it's ton of good shops in TX, I know the state is big But i know Robert Lawerence, Mark Williams, Mike Austine from this site and Mike Scroggins are located in the states. Worst comes to worst you can send guys like me or Doug Stern your ball and will give you a quality cut.

I've been to Mike Austins pro shop, great guy. He's done some ball work for me already. He's 125 miles away from me, so it's kinda of hard to get there. I'm in the process of increasing my span and I'm having all my equipment plugged (different pro shop). I'm going to mike to get the Switch grips put in everything ...

your CG is in the negative quad, but you have a weight hole??!! the ball has negative side weight and likely is illegal and that is killing your reaction.

Dave...are you left or right handed?  It looks like the right finger insert is smaller so I'm guessing your are a righty (doesn't say anything in your profile).  If so then, as Brunswick Lefty pointed out, the ball has a drilling better suited for a left handed bowler.  If you are a righty to you throw a back-up ball?  I'm just trying to figure out the drilling choice!

Regardless...I'm *REALLY* surprised that the weight hole is on the opposite side as the cg in comparison to your hand.  Unless that CG is really mis-marked (which does happen...we just saw it on a XXX) then you would've already had maybe about an once of negative side weight based on the offset of the CG to your gripline.  I can't tell how deep the weight hole is but it's looks fairly large.

No pro shop is perfect, but when mistakes happen the operator should step up and make it right for the customer.  On smaller cosmetic issues they are easily fixed with a new ball being involved.  Since the ball is fully drilled I would think that he should get you another one.

Yup...that bridge is pretty big too!  My guess is that he might be scared of cracking bridges so he makes them extra big??

Good luck with it and let us know some detials on you and how it goes.

Dave,

This ball is not drilled correctly, at least if you want it to hook it's not. It looks like it should be for a lefty, but the weight hole is for a righty.

This drilling is an end over end roll drilling that won't hook unless you really turn the ball. It'll work good on drier lanes with dry heads and dry backends, but that's about it.

I'm sure that's not what you wanted it for. But, maybe I'm wrong. =:^D
