rico drilling from 2001/storm ball?
« on: January 10, 2006, 04:57:06 AM »
Is the lay out on this storm ball a rico lay out back in 2001? If not it sure is close to one, look closely and the cg is pretty close to the center of grip and cg looks to be in a 45* angle. http://www.stormbowling.com/stormtips.asp?page=12

Thats not a rico. The cg is almost 2" from the thumb hole, and the pin is to much to the left of the center of the grip.

It doesn't matter where the pin is in relation to the center of grip for a Rico 1 layout.

The only REQUIREMENTS are, the pin be on your midline, 5" from your PAP.  For alot of bowlers that may lie directly in the center of palm, some to the right(Who have a PAP past 5"), some to the left on the midline(who have a PAP distance shorter than 5").  The other requirement is that the C.G be swung on a 45 degree angle from the pin into the thumb quadrant.  Now since there's a shift left in the pin, there's a shift left in the C.G. since it's all in line to the MB.  Add the weighthole and wha-la....It's "Rico1", modified rev leverage for a lower track player.
