Measuring Span??
« on: August 05, 2006, 05:01:24 AM »
I finaly have a comfortable fitting  ball and was wondering what the correct way to measure is. Say if I were to order a ball online and have it drilled before them sending it to me, what measurement would I give? Cut to Cut before grips and slug is installed? Or would I take the ending measurement from the lifts on the insert to the edge of the thumbhole after slug has already been drilled? Like the final span.

They can drill it from either set of measurements, just be sure to specify which you're providing.  Be sure to measure from the straight side of the holes, eliminating bevel.  I think I would give them cut to cut and specify brand and size of finger grips and size of the thumb hole.  Also, don't forget to specify pitches for all holes and bridge width.  --  JohnP

Or you best option may be to ship your ball to them in order to have the specs taken and have the new ball drilled.  I'm sure they would provide you a copy of your spec sheet.  Most offer free return shipping on the deal as well..

Thanks guys. I would probaly be better off shipping them the ball b/c I have no way of figuring out the pitches. This would eliminate any potential error on my part as well.
