Full Roller?
« on: March 03, 2009, 12:25:40 AM »
Hello New to the forum. I just found out I am a full roller and had my cell pearl drilled to roto grips full roller layout pin 3-3/8” from grip center at a 45o angle from center line in southwest direction. I have several other balls that were not drilled this way. My question is should I have them plugged and re-drilled? Being a full roller am I LIMITED to my patterns that can be drilled? I really like the way the cell pearl reacts.

The main reason for the pin location for full rollers is to keep the flare from pulling the track over the thumb and/or finger holes.  The 3 3/8" distance sets the core at a 45 degree angle which gives maximum flare.  If your other balls aren't thumping the holes (or if the noise doesn't bother you) and you like their reaction, leave them alone.  There are a few other layouts that keep the track away from the holes, and the pin to grip center distance doesn't always have to be 3 3/8".  Ask your driller about it.  --  JohnP
