Finding PAP...
« on: August 03, 2008, 08:10:25 AM »
How do your measure your PAP?  I understand it is different for every bowler, but, I really don't know how you find it.  I have some new balls that I want to get drilled; but, I would like to have a little more input on the drilling put on them (I am going to be using a different driller than I have in the past...I'm going to have everything done fresh [span, pitches, etc.]).  I know my driller can find it, but, is there any way to figure it out myself?  Thanks for the help...

Not really...the most precise way to find it is with a piece of tape and a second set of eyes.  You estimate based on your track and place tape, if it is centered right off your hand it is your PAP...if not you adjust.

Using oil lines to track it is not as precise...as you don't always see the first rotation on the ball.
