Weight removed from drilling ball?

Approx. how much weight is removed from a bowling ball after drilling a typical fingertip layout? typical balance hole?

Hey High,

I agree, usually about 2.5-3 ounces for fingers and thumb (using grips and an insert).  Too hard to say on a weight hole as that varies dependent on the size and depth needed to bring a ball back to legal limits.

Here is the same type of weight removal chart we use in the pro shop.  It gives you exact weight removal numbers for whatever depth hole(s) you are going to be drilling:
