Pin Under Fingers Question

I was talking to one of the guys at my local pro shop the other day about getting the Roto Grip Mars very soon for shorter/lighter oil and I'm thinking about going with a pin directly under the bridge with the CG pointing out. Would that layout work to smooth out the backend reaction even for a high track player?

careful putting the pin down for a high-tracker. It can cause the ball to flare over the thumbhole.

That's the only thing I was concerned about, it's been awhile since I used a pin down layout. At the time I had more speed than revs but I'm pretty balanced now.

Actually, a pin down layout is more likely to flare into the finger holes.  Whether or not it will depends on the revs the bowler imparts and the pin to PAP distance, which determines the percentage of the flare potential that is used.  I have a fairly high track, PAP = 5 15/16 over X 3/16 up and about 10 degrees of axis tilt.  I have a Red Zone with a 5 1/2" pin to PAP and the pin located under the MF.  It never hits any holes with my normal release.  --  JohnP
