Actually, a pin down layout is more likely to flare into the finger holes. Whether or not it will depends on the revs the bowler imparts and the pin to PAP distance, which determines the percentage of the flare potential that is used. I have a fairly high track, PAP = 5 15/16 over X 3/16 up and about 10 degrees of axis tilt. I have a Red Zone with a 5 1/2" pin to PAP and the pin located under the MF. It never hits any holes with my normal release. -- JohnP
