I traded for this ball, but I have NEVER had a ball with this particular drilling on it. Usually, the stuff I drill has the pin closer to the bridge with the cg/mb reasonably strong.

This is a label type drilling. Just wanted to get a little info on what to expect from its characteristics and what to look for.

It looks like your basic label leverage drill. Depending on your release, it should just give you a smooth and strong arcing motion.

label drill for a higher track player.....yours mostly being pin closer to fingers...gives ball more length and backends. This will hook up sooner and smoother on the breakpoint. If you have a lower track this is possibly a 1" away from your pap---giving more even roll.....weaker drill...all depends on your pap. 1 thing for sure it will be smoother than your pin by the fingers drill.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I may go ahead and try this before I make a drastic change.
I have several strong backend balls though. Maybe an earlier, smoother ball is what I need......

The assumption is that you're right-handed, correct?

Why do I ask, you might say? Because I had a pro-CG Cell drilled exactly the same way for a RH with the pin right in my track. Smooth rolling pill.

No need for an apology, I should have made that more clear. Yes, I am a righthanded bowler. I have been experimenting with different releases this year, trying to cope with ever drier lanes and ever powerful balls. That is why you see the "Norm Duke was right" in my sig. I have been trying, with a bit of success, to emulate the weakened hand release that I saw hin use several times to help control the breakpoint and angle of entry while still using pretty strong stuff.

I'm no Norm Duke ( not many are ), but I have shot back-to-back 700's for the first time in a while using this technique.

Currently, I don't think my track qualifies as either high or low, but isn't nearly as high as it once was. I'm probably a couple of inches from both the fingers and the thumb. Maybe a touch closer to the thumb than the fingers.
