what drilling is this?
« on: July 25, 2003, 03:36:41 AM »
Hi, just got an Icon used, and here is the drilling:

0 0

  cg     (weight hole)

 0

And the pin is inbetween the fingers. What kind of drilling is this, and what is the reaction I should expect out of it?

Thanks
Chaz

I don't know if it needed a weight hole, I picked it up used.

There may be another more official term for that layout, but I call it a "centerline stack."  For me, this is a control layout;  the reaction I usually get with it is clean in front and through the midlane, with a moderate arc on the back.  I tend to use this layout on conditions where I want to ride an oil line or play more direct through the oil.  However, the reaction tends to be too late for me to use on spottier lanes or on conditions where I need a lot of recovery.

IIRC, this is pchee2's favorite layout.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys seen this drilling a couple of times, once was when Wendy MacPherson used it on an Icon300 and a guy i know uses it on a Stinger Low Flare.

Pin under middle finger and the cg kicked way out right at maybe a 4 o'clock position. what reaction will this give, i'm guessing it's more of a control drilling???
