What PAP measurements tell about the bowler.

I've been curious about what these numbers mean as to what type of release you have, and type of bowler if possible. My numbers are 4 3/4 over, 1/8 up.

I'd be interested if pap means anything as well? Mine used to be 5 1/16 over 3/4 up, now it is 5 1/4 over, 3/4 up. Not a big difference, but a difference nonetheless.

A persons PAP tells you nothing about the bowler.
It is not an indication of speed, revs, axis rotation, or axis tilt, which are the most relevant bowler specs.

Some will say that PAP is a good indication of tilt but this is not true.
For instance I am very near a full roller (13.5" track), but my PAP coordinates are
>4 3/4" ^ 1" with a 12 - 12.5" track which is 6.66-10° of tilt and normally this amount of tilt would give a PAP in the neighborhood of >6-6.25" or my PAP would indicate about 26° of tilt.

Thats what I had heard about pap in the past, was just curious as to whether anyone else had any insight into it. I tried to think about it myself, and figured that yes, pap does tell nothing about a bowler.

On a different matter, you describe yourself as an almost full roller. Does that mean that you have a track that is very close to the thumb, but farther away from the fingers? This is what I'm guessing you mean by that.

I think it's best to measure track circumfrence and to see their side rotation on the lanes to get an accurate profile on a bowler. for example My PAP is
3 5/8 over but my track size is 12" some would figure i spin the ball but I actually don't.

Yes my track is close to my thumb about 1/4" away and about 1.5-2" away from fingers.
But when I say I am near a full roller I am referring to my track diameter not placement.
What is described as a full roller being that the track is in between the fingers and thumb is an over sight, a true full roller is a person that has a 13.5" track diameter regardless of track placement.
13.5" diameter being that your are rolling around the full circumference of the ball.
