Check This Layout Out!!!
« on: November 01, 2005, 03:13:14 AM »
I've seen a lot of layouts and holes drilled before, but never anything like this:

appears as though the proshop guy was just practicing punching up holes?  If I had to guess, I might say a "no-thumber" with a negative pin???  Otherwise, it seems as though it would hit ONE of the holes...LOL

I would also guess a no-thumber with a negative pin.  The extra hole was probably for a portion of the bowler thumb to partially hold onto the ball.

Definately different...

it appeared to me that the holes at the top used to have finger grips installed in them (and had been removed)...

It appears to me to be a no thumber as well, with the hole just under the fingers to remove top weight, & the hole on the side to remove pos side weight. I guess he can get away with the two weight holes by claiming the one is his thumb hole maybe. Weird!

I agree with Tonx. I have a ball drilled similarly, just not quite so extremme with the negative pin. Very smooth rolling ball. This might be a pure roll ball for a Hi-revver.

I would guess it was drilled for a left-handed no thumb style bowler who puts his thumb partially into the ball.  With cg/mb swung way out there was probably a need to remove some negative side weight, thus the extra hole toward the bottom of the picture.

I've been lucky long enough...now I'd like to get good.

Maybe a woman with very small hands that is left handed, has a very long ring finger, and has a driller that wanted to drill the ball label but sucks? Its a thought...

Or maybe someone got creative with their grip, and decided to stack their middle finger hole over an index finger hole, with a weighthole to the left.  It's possible too....

It doesnt have to be a no thumber it could be someone like Michale Fagan who gets a hand full at the bottom of the swing most of his stuff is pin 6in away from pap
