Pin in layout
« on: July 27, 2007, 09:55:08 AM »
I have a Used Wicked with a 1" pin in, and ball is drilled 4 1/8 X 4 3/8 with CG on the mid line. I new this layout would flair over the middle finger, and it did, because I have a high track . My PAP is 5 1/2 over 1/4 up. Now for the question ,what would be the best drilling for  this ball after plugging. Also I would like this ball for medium to dry lanes. THANKS

If the top's not too bad, drill it with the pin above the fingers, about a 5 1/2" stacked layout.  You could always drill the fingers deeper to take out some finger weight if it's got too much.  Or put a weight hole above your fingers (I'm not a driller, and you don't see many balls like that, but it makes sense to me that if there's too much finger weight, put a weight hole on the finger side.

Make sure you re-weigh the ball after you plug it to determine the new CG.

By CG on your "mid line" do you mean:

1) The vertical line that connects your bridge and thumb?
or
2) The horizontal line that splits the span of your grip?

If it's #1 how far up is the pin...if it's #2 how large is your span?  In most cases you should be able to highten your bowtie by putting a hole down (thumb quadrant) on your VAL...I've done this in the past and it has worked great.

But Shelly's idea could also work out for you too.
