Wizard Plug Part A problem
« on: February 05, 2009, 02:58:34 AM »
Hi fellow proshop owners.  I wanted to ask you a question.  I've been using Wizard plug for about a year and a half now and have a problem with the part A (the white liquid for lack of a better term).  If I leave the pump in the bottle and don't use it for a couple weeks, the material hardens up and it very difficult if not impossible to pump anymore. What I'm wondering has this happened to anybody else and what little tricks of the trade have you used to keep the pump clean and still working? I've had to order a new kit, I was almost out anyway, and throw the old pump out.

I know someone told me now to clean the pump with water because the part A is urethane and it will react and solidify if I used water.

Just looking for some of your experiences.  I love using this because it hardens in no time and its great for making thumb inserts using thumb molds.

Thanx.

I have encountered this problem also. The solution is easy. I no longer use the pump. I use small plastic cups and mark the level with a sharpie on two cups, combine into a third, larger cup and mix and pour. The pumps are very inaccurate, anyways.

Thanx Pooh.  I have been doing that will my old kit, just eyeballing it.  I will give it a try if my new pump clogs up again.

You can try to take the springs out the pumps and leave the pumps down until used. make sure to wipe excess off after use and cover with the cap. It seems to work good for us.  plus you have to shake the part up sometimes or it will become greasy.

We usually use ours more, atleast every other day. But anyways, we clean out the pump tip with a paperclip and pump alittle bit into a cup we have next to the kit to make sure its clean...
