Quite awhile ago someone (charlest?) posted a great list of x-hole location vs expected reaction. Does anyone have this? Right now, I'm particularly interested in reducing backend snap. I have a Track Desert Heat that's a little jumpy on the back and would like to smooth it out a bit.

Small deep hole on your PAP to take it back to 1/2oz neg. That's my suggestion.

Guys,

Remember that the Desert Heat has such a low RG differential that changes to the core by weight holes will make minimal differences.

I wonder if a weight hole 2-3" past the PAP, plus the removal of some top and side weight (even though that change is alsmot inconsequential for reactive resin balls with dynamic cores) might make enought of an overall change to the ball's reaction.

To smooth out such a ball, I think roughening up the cover slightly would be more significant. 2000 then a 4000 grit abralon pad might do the trick.

Thanks, guys. I removed a 1/4oz of side, ending at 5/8oz; xhole on PAP. I had success taming the backend of my X5.0 this way. This was just the ticket. Now, instead of jumping on the back, it rolls very smoothly throughout.

I almost forgot, does anyone have that list I spoke of; that describes the reaction (or change in) in respect to placement of the xhole? I used to keep a printout of it, but my 2yr. has rearranged some of my bowling stuff!!

A hole past pap will increase reaction and flare potential. If you wish to decrease snap and smooth out the ball go with the surface change but also a hole higher up not past pap say 2-3 inches away from center of grip will remove top and some side and remove the flippy reaction some.
