Remember that the Desert Heat has such a low RG differential that changes to the core by weight holes will make minimal differences.
I wonder if a weight hole 2-3" past the PAP, plus the removal of some top and side weight (even though that change is alsmot inconsequential for reactive resin balls with dynamic cores) might make enought of an overall change to the ball's reaction.
To smooth out such a ball, I think roughening up the cover slightly would be more significant. 2000 then a 4000 grit abralon pad might do the trick.
