Yet another Layout Question - Part Two

Wow, that was quick..Thanks.. With the balls I have I can't move in at ALL past ten (lately past eight) and get the balls back..  Iam looking to play deeper and still recover in fresh - fairly heavy oil..  I don't think alot of length would be a good idea but then again i don't want to burn up what I can give it being a lower speed / lower rev player. So I guess I am trying to still get a decent angle from alot further inside with aome power left to carry on heavier oil. When the lanes start changing I can switch balls if necessary.  I guess I don't even feel I know enough to ask my Driller the right questions ( He's great but.......).

To add to my posts.......  I currently have a U-turn Particle (basic label leverage) that will play pretty close to the line I want but It is just DOA when it gets there most of the time..when it hits it hits.. I am hoping to be able to play deeper inside on fresh house pattern again and still have something left when I get to the pocket.. If I am way off base and this is the wrong ball or whatever let me know..I just want to learn what I'm doing.. Can't seem to improve my game right now.  I've kind of topped off..

Squeak -- I'm afraid a lot of folks will think this was a double post of your original message and not look at it.  You might want to add a response to your original message instead.  Do you know what your PAP location is?  Actually, with a low track the layout on your NS2 might be fairly strong.  Strength of the pin location is strictly dependent on its distance from your PAP, not on its location in relation to the gripping holes.  Have you tried surface adjustments yet?  --  JohnP

Sorry about the posts being misleading (PLEASE read my first post - long story)..  Not accustomed to the 'Forum' thing.  Yeah, took my Nitro back down abit and it's better. Had some polish on for length in a tournament. Don't get me wrong this is probably my favorite ball but I still can't come in at ALL I'm talking first arrow stuff.  I would like to come back in to around the third arrow on fresh conditions at times.  You are probably right about the NS2 being stronger than I think cuz I leave alot of pocket splits if I get too much dry.  My track is pretty darn low.  So my original question really is do you think I can get a drill on the Mean Machine that will allow me to play deeper and still have something left at the pocket with low track/lower speed/low-med revs? I know very little about most of this and absolutely NOTHING about a core like this ball.

I'd take it down a lot, say 250 grit, then throw it.  If it burns up, move up to 320 and try it.  Keep moving up until you find the max reaction for you.  Low trackers can require a lot of surface to get a good reaction.  All this is best done on a spinner, so I'm assuming your pro shop will work with you.  You can modify ball reaction a lot more with surface changes than with layout changes.  --  JohnP

Thanks.........I will give it a go.. Funny though that taking the Nitro down to about 400 doesn't scare me but lower does.  I have 800 on it now..  By the way I got that thing drilled.. Probably not the best ball for my style but I sure got a deal and want to try it..  My PAP is like 3.75 over and a half down (told you low).  I am working on getting it up.  Now the pin ended up right above my fingers (sounds strong to me) and the MB 2.5 inches to the right of my thumb.  Now I kept asking my driller if kicking it out past my VAL would help with roll (low track).  I ended up with a 31/32" hole to bring static back to legal.  Any idea what this may roll like.  Haven't thrown it yet.

No reason to fear taking it down further.  If it doesn't work, just bring it back to your 800.  --  JohnP
