Join Lane Side Reviews as they take the 4th #Vandal from DV8 Bowling, the #VandalStrike, to the lanes. It may be the 4th, but you'll be striking all the way to the 10th with this one.

Vandal Strike - More Length and More Angle!
« Reply #2 on: November 15, 2017, 08:38:20 AM »
My name is Bryan L. Williams and I am a PBA Member and DV8 Pro Staffer

The Vandal Strike is a great addition to the Vandal Line of bowling balls from DV8.  The Vandal Strike provides bowlers with more length and stronger backend motion to the pocket.  In comparison to the Vandal Destroy, the Vandal Strike gives you about 1-1.5’ more length down the lane with about 3-5 more boards of hook, making this ball ideal when you need to get the ball down the lanes.  This ball is a great compliment to the Hitman and will complement any novice to advanced bowler on different lane conditions. I would recommend this ball for medium lane conditions.

The DV8 Vandal Strike….If you are not throwing DV8, you’re just not bowling! #brunswickbowling, #dv8bowling, #radicalbowling technologies.

Here is the new addition to the Vandal serie, the Vandal Strike.  This ball features the same core as the other Vandals, but this time the core is wrapped up with the composite flip pearl coverstock.  The box finish is at 500 grit with crown factory compound.  The result offers the longest and the sharpest Vandal in the serie.

I drilled this ball 75x4.5”x45 with the pin above the bridge.  The reason is to get more length and more backend because almost all my balls are drilled with 4” pin.

On the lane, the ball gives me what I was looking for.  It clears the heads pretty easely and offers a sharp backend.  Compared to the Hitman, I play the Strike 2 boards right with my feet and 1 board right with my eyes.  The difference is the length of the ball.  It doesn’t wanna roll in the midlane and goes throught it.  When the Hitman begins to over react, I just witch to the Strike playing the same area and the ball hits the pocket.  I don’t tend to use it on the fresh because it the ball is over under due to the drilling and the finish.

For people with more speed, the ball can be sanded to the 1000 or even a 500 grit and it won’t lose his power.

To conclure, if you you need to have ball that clears the heads easely and offers a big pop in the backend, the Vandal Strike is your ball.

Length: Easy length, clears the mid-lane with ease

Volume: Med-light oil

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS so far

Comments: The newest addition to the very popular Vandal line is the new Vandal Strike, it is just as good as the previous Vandals and fits in nicely. The Original and the Destroy were 2 of my favorite balls over the last 2 years. I was looking for a ball that would fit below my DV8 Hitman and my Creed and that is what I got. The Strike has great length and is very strong off and works great on shorter patterns or when THS starts to breakdown. The Strike for me fits right in between the Creed and Freakshow Flip.

Likes: great ball for lighter conditions

Dislikes: med-heavy oil

Layout: 6 inches off of the axis point, with a 7/8" weight hole on the axis point

Left at box finish

The Vandal Strike is one of a kind! Has great length and rolls really strong on the backends. This ball is great for that medium oil house shot. It could definitely be a benchmark ball for all types of players.
So if you are a tournament bowler looking for that strong medium oil ball in your arsenal this is a great fit for that, but If you are a one night a week bowler looking for that strong skid flip motion on the backends, this is a great choice!
I did find that this ball is great on the fresh conditions, and as the lanes break down a little bit more, the Vandal Strike was still able to handle some lane breakdown and not loose any hitting power or performance!
