DV8 Chill Pearl – More Backend Motion Down Lane

The original DV8 Chill gave bowlers a lot of ball for a great price point.  The Chill had a unique ball motion that was very controllable and allowed bowlers to go to a ball that was not too much on medium lane conditions, and just enough on oil.  The new Chill Pearl carries on the same motion as the original Chill Solid but gives you more backend ball motion down lane.  With the Diva Core 2.0 in this ball, this ball is very clean, yet strong down lane.  I found this ball to work very well on medium lane conditions.  It wasn’t too skid flip down lane, but the Chill Pearl is a little less on the backend from the Violent Collision and you can play more in front of you with this ball.  Kept the layout very tame with a stacked drill layout, having the pin above the ring finger and the CG right below the pin.  The DV8 Chill pear is a great addition to any arsenal you may have in your bag.  Remember, if you are not throwing DV8, you’re just not bowling!!!

Chill Pearl - House Patterns and USBC Open Singles

Chill Pearl, Chill, Diamond Diva, PLEASE keep them coming my way.  Chill Pearl is the backend monster you haven’t seen in a while from DV8 but not overly aggressive which is what I loved so much from the Chill.  These two are an easy one two punch.  On the house shot I can play to the friction or in the volume until it hits friction.  I will still see a good read and roll through the pins.  On sport game 5 (game 2 for singles) in open championships I went from the Chill to the Chill Pearl.  MY O MY the reaction was what I needed once the Chill started to leave the ten pin.  I was able to open the lane up just a bit more, also had a little more room to miss right.  Most of all I left a nine pin that let me know this ball is a keeper it must be!!!  Overall, the Chill Pearl can cut through a little volume, and it doesn’t shy away from the friction.  Going through the pins is what most DV8 bowling balls do very well.  The amount of energy that is stored from the skid, hook, roll phase is slightly scary.  I have seen at least twice with the Chill Pearl the ball looks like it’s already through the pins and the pins are so shocked to be hit that hard they go down in slow motion.
