Deviant is a  Medium RG Symmetric ball with Composite V Coverstock, has a Solid Finish with 500 Siaair, the Royal Compound. this ball is very very smooth with great Reaction,, If you need more length this ball will give it too you or if you need more reaction changing coverstock will give it too you. Drilled this ball 65x5x40 using a 4-6 inch pin. Great ball on the Viper and on Wet Dry conditions

COMMENTS

Likes:  The deviant has a very smooth predictable motion.  I have been able to throw this ball with a heavy oil pattern down to a low volume pattern.  The ball recovers well.  When other balls give me looks that I don't like or are tight I pull out this ball.  I love this ball.  My deviant is drilled 60 x 4.5 x 70.

I drilled up a pair of Deviants with the assumption that they would compliment my Divas by being a shade longer and more angular.  My first Deviant is 45x4.75x70 pin below bridge with a small P3 and my second 55x5x45 pin over bridge with no hole.

My initial reaction to the Deviants was surprise at how a solid could be that clean through the front and responsive down the lane.  This ball gives me the kind of shape that I expect out of a shiny hybrid or pearl and out of box overlapped with my Melee Jab.
It wasn't long before I hit 3k on both balls to calm down their response to friction

The pin down has been my favorite of the 2, giving me much more success both up the back in the track and deep inside with more tilt.  This ball rounds the corner very nicely and has given me a solid look on everything from 43' Dead Man's Curve to our drier house pattern.  This ball gives me above average hook potential, above average length, a strong backend and is still the most responsive to friction pin down solids that I have ever thrown.

The reason why I have been so slow to write my review on the Deviant is that I just haven't thrown my pin up much at all.  It has given me an ok look on a wide variety of patterns but I have never felt I've had the nuts with it.  My pin up Deviant is just a little too sensitive in oil, yet a little too strong to play the dry.

I recommend the Deviant as a good ball to switch to once the lanes begin to transition for either higher track players or lower rev bowlers looking for help getting around the corner in medium volumes of oil.  It will be useful to help split the difference between your high end tanks and flippy mid range pearls.

LANE CONDITION

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

Likes: The DV8 Deviant is very clean through the front part of the lane and smooth and continuous off the friction. My layout 70x4x75 provides me the length I need and the smooth move to the pocket when I need to move left of center on broken down or late shift patterns. I'm able to just move left and throw it to the friction without having to worry if its going to snap at the end. This ball has amazing pin action and carry.
