Here is the new hi performance ball for DV8, the Warrant. This ball offers a brand new core, the Captive. The cover is the same base as the Night Prowler but with some hooking additive to cover more boards. The ball features the new DOT technologie to optimize the durability and also dynamicore for better carry.

The ball comes out of the box with a 500 1000 with a Factory compound. The new core / cover technologie and the surface allows the ball to clear the head and have a strong roll in the midlane.

Because I really like the Night Prowler, I went with the same drilling, 75 x 4 x 80.

On the lane, the ball delivers exactly what I expected. The ball roll really hard in the midlane. Compared to the Instigator, I stand about the same place but the ball is cleaner in the front. Compared to the Intimidator I'm 2 boards right on the approach and 1 board rigth at the target meanly because of the ball is cleaner in the front part of the lane. Last weekend I used it on the wtba Sydney (33') around 5th board. I begun with the Intimidator and when it begun to burn up, I was able to ball down to the Warrant and keep the same target and angles and still continue to strike.

For people with higher ball speed, the surface can be adjusted and you'll be able to use that ball and get advantage of the midlane motion.

To conclude, if you want to have a clean ball that rolls hard in the midlane, this ball is for you.

Powerful, Yet Smooth and Controllable....
by Bryan L Williams, PBA Member and DV8 Pro Staff

“Introducing the newest releases from DV8. Next ball up is the DV8 Warrant. The layout in this ball is 45x5x40. This ball is just incredibly smooth with continuous ball motion through the pins. DV8 is known for producing extremely strong rolling and hard hitting balls. With Dynamicore added to this ball, the Warrant is that go to ball that allows you to control the mid-lane with incredible hitting power. Another must have in your bag from DV8. COMMENTS

The Warrant is definitely a ball that turned my eyes.  The ball motion is clean through the fronts and has a wicked flip backend motion.  It reminds me of a Verge but of course cleaner through the front because of the Polish.  The Warrant is definitely a ball for those broken down sport shots and medium condition house patterns

Finally got to throw this Hybrid. used on THS, I was able to stay right longer with excellent carry, when throw good. Layout I used was 90x3.5.35. my ball speed is 15.2-15.7, Compared to the Frequency I saw a lot more length, and about 5 boards less reaction. Changed the surface to 800 since the Frequency is what I had changed it too. It was design to Flip, but I wasn't looking that when I drilled. Good on Medium to light conditons. Hope this info helps

Drilled up my Warrant 45x4.5x40 (pin touching the top right of my ring finger) with the intention of having something to sit right in the middle of my bag.  I find that my top shelf balls are a little too much or responsive, while my symmetrics can be a bit lazy on fresh oil so the Warrant fit the bill.
The Warrant has been a fun ball for me on fresh lanes.  It reads the lane enough, revs up quite well and gives me enough motion on the back end to move inwards as far I would want to be in a league setting.  I have tinkered with the surface and at 2k it was plenty strong enough to use on fresh oil on a slick 41' Beaten Path in our challenge league, but still better suited for the house pattern.

The Warrant fills an interesting spot in my bag where it is a bit cleaner with more shape than my Verge or Tenacity Grit, yet enjoys a bit more oil than either my Closer, Hero or Method Hybrid.  This is the kind of ball that makes bowling in our mixed league simple - I can start with the Warrant for a game or 2 and when I start leaving flat corners or feel that I am having to move my feet too far then I can ball down to either my Melee Jab SE, Uppercut or Glam.

Below is a video that we shot with our friends at JR Pro Shop a month back showing the Warrant along with the Glam and Uppercut on a freshly oiled medium/heavy 40' 7/1 pattern.  We don't edit out poor shots, but you wouldn't have known it with the Warrant.  However, I wish I had more people bowling with me to break the shot down so I could show how good the Glam and Uppercut look when the lanes get torched

LANE CONDITION

Length: 43

Volume:

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

The Warrant is a great ball and with layout it was a little too clean going down lane for me.  I made a surface adjustment with a 2,000 TruCut pad and it became a monster ball for me.  Strong off the spot with a good setup in the midlane.
