Here is the new addition to the Vandal serie, the Vandal Strike. This ball features the same core as the other Vandals, but this time the core is wrapped up with the composite flip pearl coverstock. The box finish is at 500 grit with crown factory compound. The result offers the longest and the sharpest Vandal in the serie.
I drilled this ball 75x4.5â€x45 with the pin above the bridge. The reason is to get more length and more backend because almost all my balls are drilled with 4†pin.
On the lane, the ball gives me what I was looking for. It clears the heads pretty easely and offers a sharp backend. Compared to the Hitman, I play the Strike 2 boards right with my feet and 1 board right with my eyes. The difference is the length of the ball. It doesn’t wanna roll in the midlane and goes throught it. When the Hitman begins to over react, I just witch to the Strike playing the same area and the ball hits the pocket. I don’t tend to use it on the fresh because it the ball is over under due to the drilling and the finish.
For people with more speed, the ball can be sanded to the 1000 or even a 500 grit and it won’t lose his power.
To conclure, if you you need to have ball that clears the heads easely and offers a big pop in the backend, the Vandal Strike is your ball.
