I drilled my Hooligan Taunt 60x4x55 (pin in ring) with the intent of giving me a ball that I could use earlier in a block with medium/low volume.  I’ve used it on 37’ Kegel Broadway, 39’ ABC 2003 pattern, 45’ Kegel Route 66 as well as a couple of mid length house patterns.

In all cases the Taunt has given me an easy look at the pocket by being rolly in the midlane and giving me enough shape down the lane to mix the pins.  Of all the patterns my best look was on the 4-1 37’ Broadway where I was the straightest with my angles and benefitted from the friction on the outside boards.  While most of the other balls in my bag were forcing me well inside the oil line or boomeranging around the backend, the Taunt allowed me to keep my lines straight and gave me both a very high pocket and carry %. 

The interesting thing about the Taunt is just how controllable and versatile it is.  On all of the patterns I have been able to find the pocket and have some success by playing a safer line in the track on fresh but what most impresses me how long I could keep the ball in my hand with a very high pocket %.  My carry is best with this ball when I can stay straighter and firmer right of 3 arrow, but I have had success as deep as 4 arrow with softer speed/more axis rotation.  For really broken down lanes I would suggest a higher pin layout or a ball that better retains energy (the original Hooligan) would be better suited, but for a versatile, safe ball on medium/dry lanes the Hooligan Taunt is a must in your bag.

DV8 describes the Hooligan Taunt as length with aggressive flip on light to medium oil.
I didn’t use my original Hooligan very much.  The lane conditions never seemed right for it.  There was either too much volume and the ball would float way too far down the lane, or when the volume was light enough, the Hooligan was too flippy.  Based on the changes to the Hooligan taunt I was hoping this ball would get more use than the original.  DV8 beefed up the cover and changed the surface on the Hooligan Taunt.
I choose a 5.5 inch pin above layout with no weight hole for my Hooligan Taunt.  This is my standard length with controllable backend layout.
The Hooligan Taunt did not disappoint me.  It was able to handle more volume than the original, and was much smoother and controllable on the backend.  The Taunt is still very clean up front, but it picks up in the midlane much better than the original, and rolls off the back of the pattern much smoother than the original. 
The Hooligan Taunt is going to be an amazing ball for later in the block on sport and challenge patterns when the heads start to get chopped up, but there is still volume down lane that the ball needs to get through.  I can also see it being a great ball for higher rev players on house patterns.  The Taunt won’t be overly aggressive, but it can still read the lane better than most lower end equipment.

The Hooligan Taunt is the second release in the Hooligan line. The Hooligan Taunt utilizes the same core as the Red/Yellow Hooligan, but it is wrapped in a stronger Class 5G Pearl reactive cover. The box finish is different as well. The Taunt uses a 500/Royal Compound finish compared to the 500/Royal Compund/Royal Shine finish of the original Hooligan. I drilled my Taunt 70x4.5x40. This layout is my favorite layout on symmetrical balls. The red/yellow Hooligan  was great when you had defined friction down lane, but was a little squirrelly when the conditions weren't just right. With our 43ft THS the Hooligan stayed in the bag for most of the time. So when I heard the new release was another Hooligan, I was curious to see how different they two would be. The Taunt is 3 and 2 stronger than the Hooligan with a slightly earlier read and controlled backend reaction. On our fresh THS, I was playing straighter angles but had enough ball to get to the hole and carry. The Taunt is going to be a great ball for short patterns and wet/dry conditions. This is a very controlled and even reacting ball. It's not a skid/flip ball. I took tested the Taunt on a broken down 39ft sport shot and could've kicked myself for not using it during league. The ball motion was smooth and predictable with just enough pop on the back to keep from hanging corners. This may not be a ball that's the first out of the bag, but you are going to love having this when the lanes are tough and you need control.

My name is Doug Cutler and I am a DV8/Brunswick/Radical Regional Staffer.  I am left handed and I am between 15-16mph.  I drilled the Hooligan Taunt with the pin just above my fingers and the CG stacked and the surface is out of box.  Pin 3-4".  I did not use the original Hooligan that much because I could not get the surface correct with the patterns, the ball would read to early or to long, so I did a safe drilling on the Hooligan Taunt and SO far this ball is been perfect with the patterns I bowled on. This ball is smoother in the mid lane and more reaction.  The patterns I have used the Hooligan Taunt on has been Cheetah, 2015 USBC Nationals Team pattern, and THS.  This ball works really good for me when I am straighter and play up boards.  I am really excited about this ball is how predictable it is, and how much power it has in the back.  The Hooligan Taunt works well on THS, and Medium/Dry Lane conditions.  DV8 has done a great start of the year with the Hooligan Taunt and this is a ball you are going to need in your bag, I promise you will not be disappointed!! Last year one of my favorite 'bail me out of trouble balls' was my hooligan. This year not much has changed with the taunt. Its a compound cover finish vs the hooligan last year coming out very shiny.

So I drilled my taunt 70 * 4 1/4 * 40 and double thumbed it to and some diff. to the core. This ball is pretty tame even drilled strong which is fine with me. When there is some defined friction this ball is perfect. This ball responds slow to the friction as apposed to a vandal or thug than get up and go when they see friction.

If you need a strong starter ball or something where you are bowling on lots of friction. This ball is freaking money! The more hook you see the better this guy rolls. Its a nice addition to the lineup and a big jump over the outcasts(Mine hasnt hooked yet haha)

If you are looking for a ball to attack dry lanes, The Hooligan Taunt is for you. I have mine drilled with the pin drilled 1 inch above and 2 inches over to the right of the ring finger with the CG 3 inches directly below the pin. The ball is extremely clean through the front of the lane and makes a very controlled motion towards the pocket. The Taunt has fantastic hitting power and you will definitely not be disappointed with how it throws pins around. This ball is consistently 5 to 6 boards weaker than a DV8 Vandal that I own. The Hooligan Taunt is extremely good when the heads get a bit spotty. Everybody needs one in their bag.
