Description: The DV8 Thug Corrupt pairs a composite hybrid coverstock with  the Thug Low RG asymmetric core and is finished with a 4000 Siaair pad.  This aggressive combination creates so much hook and flip in heavy oil it should be illegal!

If you are looking for a ball with a monster back end motion this is the ball. This ball skids threw the heads and makes a violent  turn at the end of the pattern. On a typical house shot a bowler can not throw it to far right without the fear it will get back. This ball will come back and it will get around the corner and hit the pins like a truck. On heavier oil patterns this ball will still make the turn and drive threw the pins. DV8 has hit a homerun with this ball.

 The Thug Corrupt is the third ball in the line. This Thug Corrupt offers an all new Composite Hybrid cover wrapped around the low RG asymmetric Thug core. The box finish is 500/4000 Siaair. I drilled mine with my favorite, 60x4-5/8x30 layout. During the summer, I run a sport shot league and was excited to see how it rolled. Unfortunately, we were on medium length patterns; 2011-12 Chameleon (39ft) and U.S. Open (40ft). I also tested it on our 43ft heavier volume THS.

On the fresh Chameleon and U.S. Open patterns, the Corrupt forced me a little deeper than I would normally like to start. Even with the 4000 Siaair finish, it was reading the mids very hard. I did see some success on these patterns after a game or so. I was able to stand 27 and had to be a little firmer with my speed. I was great as long as I hit the 7/8 board around 40ft. If I missed a board in, the ball was just too strong. I'm sure a surface change, and/or different layout, would allow me to be more comfortable on these patterns. Honestly, what's the point? This ball is designed for heavier/longer patterns.

On our 43ft THS, the Corrupt was strong and consistent. Compared to the Thug and Thug Unruly, this ball is  strong in the mids and significantly stronger when it sees friction . It wasn't as sensitive to the heavier volume as the Thug. Even at the same 500/4000 finish, the Corrupt read the midlane a few feet earlier and provided a stronger backend motion. I took the Corrupt to 500/2000 to compare it to my Unruly. The Unruly was strong in the midlane with a smooth, arcing shape throughout the lane. With the surface change the new Corrupt was stronger overall. The Corrupt picked up in the midlane just like the Unruly but retained its backend shape and continuation. Being a lefty, I often run into trouble moving deeper on longer formats. The heads get beat up fast and strong balls like the Unruly struggle to get through without reading early. The Corrupt will allow me to keep this ball in my hands on the longer patterns when I need to move in, but still need a stronger asymmetric motion with a little surface on it.

The Thug and Thug Unruly were a huge hit in our center last year. They out sold all other balls in our pro shop. I expect the new Corrupt to be an even bigger success. The new Composite cover will matchup perfectly with a wide variety of bowlers. Being able to adjust the surface and not loose any backend reaction is HUGE! Especially on longer/tighter tournament patterns.

My name is Doug Cutler and I am a DV8 Regional Staffer and I throw around 15-16mph.  The Drilling on my first Thug Corrupt i put the pin above my ring finger and kicked the CG out just a little. I left the surface the out of the box. The Thug Corrupt is much stronger than the original Thug, and provides a different motion than the Thug Unruly.  Compared to the original Thug, the Thug Corrupt is a solid 4-6 boards stronger.  It picks up the mid lane much stronger and finishes stronger on the backend.  Compared to the Unruly the Corrupt is much cleaner and more angular.  Overall strength is comparable, but the motion and shape is different.  I think the Thug Corrupt is the ball that most people look for on a Typical House Shot.  It provides that “stand left, throw right” motion that many bowlers look for on a Typical House Shot.  But it is also clean enough that a stroker would be able to stay right with it and get the ball down the lane.  I can believe how much stronger the Thug Corrupt is to the Thug Unruly, which the Thug Unruly was the most aggressive ball on the market last year.  I am going to get another Thug Corrupt and really Polish it so I can use it on more than just Heavy Oil Patterns. I have used the Thug Corrupt on the Shark Pattern.  The Thug corrupt is a ball that you really need in your bag when you are bowling on Heavy Oil Patterns.  DV8 has done a great Job with this Ball and it is going to be a very popular ball this year and I will have at least 2 of these in my Bag.    This ball hooks!! It has great continuous motion and goes through the fronts really well for a ball that hooks so much.

The DV8 Thug Corrupt is the ball for you if you are looking for aggressive back end motion. It gets through the front of the lane extremely clean then makes a huge move toward the pocket. The ball drives through the pins incredibly well, therefore eliminating many weak hit spares such as a 10 or 7 pin. The clean roll through the front of the lane makes the ball very easy to adjust with during the transitions. This allows me to keep it in my hand for longer periods of time. This is another great release from DV8.

Thug Corrupt
I have thrown my Thug Corrupt for a few weeks now. I used a layout on this ball which drilled my ring finger hole through the pin. This ball gets into a roll early and doesn’t seem to ever stop as it goes through the pins. The Thug Corrupt is a great ball for tougher conditions when you don’t want a skid-flip reaction.
