Likes:I was looking for a ball with a similar reaction to the Ebonite GB3 which is discontinued.  Same drilling and very similar reaction.  Skids well through the heads and makes a nice benchmark move on the lane.  Very easy to read and great pin action. Great reaction playing between 5 and 10 and sending it toward the gutter; just like my GB3.

The DV8 Verge Pearl is a great transition ball. In my area, there is not a lot of volume to use this ball out the gate, but I found this ball to be used greatly during tournaments after 2-3 games. This ball cleared the fronts really well and provides a sharp backend reaction for when you have to open the lanes up. For being a symmetrical ball, you will not be disappointed in the backend reaction and its hard hitting on the pins.

This large cored symmetrical pearl is very smooth and strong.  It is a ball I can throw for all 3 games for league and also use in tournaments to control the pattern well.  The blue color is very appealing for those who like to throw single colored bowling balls.  This is a versatile ball and would recommend to anyone looking for that benchmark pearl.

No-thumb, one league per week, tournaments when I can. Tremendous slouch.

Length with continuous backend. Ideal for medium oil.

The Verge has been a favorite in the DV8 lineup, and DV8 follows it up with the Verge Pearl. The Verge received the attention of bowlers because of its strength and versatility, the Verge Pearlbrings much of the same (as with the Verge Solid the Verge Pearl also uses the Threshold core and an addition of a pearl additive to make the Inciter Pearl cover stock) but has more length and a sharper breakpoint. The Verge Pearlwill be a great addition to your bag for medium conditions and to combat transition. Adding DynamiCore for extra hitting power and Durability Optimization Technology (DOT) for worry free drilling with your favorite layout, and this ball is a sure thing.

The out of box surface is 500/1000 and finished with Crown Factory Compound. With  the core and cover combination the Verge Pearl is exactly as DV8 intended and advertised, length and a sharper breakpoint but not too quick off of the dry (and my chosen layout of 80x4.25x45 helps to promote that ball shape). The Verge Pearl has been in play for me every week of this season except for one when the lanes played super slick all night long. It can be used as the first ball out of my bag although I tend to have a better look starting league with a solid, be it symmetric or asymmetric core, and this ball really excels when the pattern starts to transition after a solid or ball with surface is reading the lane too early. I can play a really deep inside line, get a handful and send it with the Verge Pearl still having energy to drive through the pins.

The Dark Blue, Ocean Blue pearl cover highlighted with the Orange lettering really make a beautiful looking ball.

High performance at the upper-mid level price, the Verge Pearl is THE FIRST ball that I’ll recommend to any bowler looking for a symmetric pearl. Released at the start of this bowling season, it is a constant ball in my league and tournament bags and gets lane time nearly every session whether it’s as early as the first game or to close out the last game.
