The Rude Dude is the second ball from DV8 in the Dude line. With the symmetric core, the Rude Dude features a very strong but controllable backend motion, but still manages to easily clear the heads.

I always liked my original Dude, itâ€™s a ball I can play straighter up the lane with and not get an over/under reaction on the back-end. Especially when bowling on the tougher sport shot patterns. The only complaint Iâ€™ve have with the original was when the lanes where freshly oiled or on the tighter side, then it was sometimes too easy to push it through the breakpoint.

But with the Rude Dudeâ€™s more aggressive coverstock, thatâ€™s no longer a problem. The ball now gets through the fronts as easy as the original, but picks up on the mid-lane much quicker.

I also liked the way I can change the surface on the ball without losing the basic shape of the reaction. Out of the box, it comes 500 and buffed, but bringing it up to 2000 and shined allowed me to use it on â€œburnâ€ and still get the same basic reaction as the out-of-box finish did on fresh.

Overall, the Rude Dude has a unique reaction and makes a great addition to anyoneâ€™s bag. Comparatively, I would say itâ€™s about 30% more aggressive overall than the original Dude, and about the same overall hook as the DV8 Diva, but with a more arcing shape.

Compared to the original Dude the Rude Dude picks up mid lane much quicker, but still smooth. This was OTB, and on burnt lanes, used for 1 game and had to put away, next outing will change the surface to 2000 should be able to stay with it longer and play right. For Higher Rev plays with ball speed OTB should work well

I have kept this ball at the box finish, and I can't say enough good about it. I've had it for just a little over 2 weeks, and it is now the first ball out of my bag. This weight block and cover combination is fantastic. The ball starts rolling a good bit earlier than the original Dude but still keeps its smooth back end reaction. The Rude Dude is overall more hook, but it still gives the extreme predictability of the Dude line. This ball can be the first out of your bag very easily. Then, if the lane gives a bit of a breakdown, just pick up your original Dude and keep on striking. I honestly say that both this ball and the original Dude are wonderful purchases and must haves in your bag.

DV8 describes the Rude Dude as â€œFinished with Royal Compound, the Rude Dude skids easily through the front and midland revving hard on the backend providing a strong and continuous hook motion. The Class 7G coverstock has just the right attitude on medium to oily lane conditions.â€
When the Rude Dude was announced I was ecstatic! Given my love for symmetric balls, I was so excited to hear that another STRONG symmetric was being released.
I went with a 65x5x70 Double Thumb drilling for my Rude Dude. This layout gives me an extremely strong continuous motion in my symmetric equipment. I have an original Dude with this layout and I absolutely love it, so this layout was a no brainer.
The Rude Dude is Strong Strong Strong. Comparing it to an original Diva, I would say it is 4 and 2 stronger. So far I have used it on a burnt up house pattern, and the 40ft Abbey Road Kegel Pattern.
The burnt up house pattern simply didnâ€™t have enough oil on the lane for the Rude Dude to be used. The ball felt like it hooked in my backswing and was completely out of energy when it got to the pins. This ball NEEDS oil in order to get energy to the pins, making it a great option for heavier volume medium length patterns.
On Abbey Road the Rude Dude came to life. The pattern provided enough oil up front to get the Rude Dude down the lane and WOW was it a monster in the backend. I was able to stay left of all other bowlers on my pair, and keep moving left, and as long as I had head oil, I could keep moving left. The Rude Dude also gave me miss room right that others were not seeing. It was able to recover from a miss right, when others were missing the head pin.
The Rude Dude is going to be a staple in my bag, I wonâ€™t travel anywhere without it. It is slightly too strong to be a benchmark ball, but it is a great step up when my benchmark Dude is just not enough. Watch out for this ball on the lanes, it will be running over the pins.

The RUDE DUDE is a great step up from the DUDE, when the DUDE just doesn't seem like quite enough. I layed my DUDE out the same way and the RUDE DUDE is stronger mid lane, but doesn't give up any motion in the back. I find it more of a benchmark ball than other because of its way to blend the pattern and be more even throughout the lane. Like I said, although the ball is even, it does not quit in the back. DV8 really hit the nail on the head in search of a bigger badder DUDE. It's orange color stands out and can't be missed. There is defiantly something RUDE about this ball.

here is my review on the DV8 Rude DUDE !!!

Tested on typical house condition.

There is a lot to say about this ball... this ball is very predictable through the entire lane. Has a strong mid-lane roll to it, but doesn't lose its energy in the backend. definently not a hockey stick motion in the back, just a very strong rolling off the spot. I was able to keep moving left with this ball and it just kept coming back. This is probably one of the best midlane balls that I have seen in a while, and definently will stay in my bag when I head out to PBA Regionals. This ball could be a very good Benchmark ball for a lot of bowlers as this ball has great predictability. This is a ball that will be the 1st out of my bag, when it comes to figuring out which way to play the lanes and if I have to ball up or down in the Arsenal. One thing I noticed with the ball to is the way it went through the pins, there was a lot of drive through the pins and it pushed the pins straight back.

For the tournament bowler, I think this may be a great ball in your bag as a benchmark. For the average bowler looking for hook at a mid-price point, this is definently a ball you should invest in. And if you are a bowler that likes bright colours, then you have to have this ball.

Overall this is a great symmetric ball by DV8, and maybe they will bring out a pearlized version. Well I am hoping they do !!!!!!

Hello to everyone and this is my Review of the Rude Dude.

I am left handed and I throw around 15-16mph

The lanes conditions I bowled on is the USBC Red Pattern, and the High Way to Hell, and the Abby Road.

The surface on the Rude Dude I just hit it with a light 4000 pad.

The way i drilled my first Rude Dude is the Pin about 1" above my Finders and the CG just to the left of the center of my palm.

The second one I drilled I have the pin just below my Ring Finger and the CG just kicked left just a little bit. I have the surface on this one a light 2000 pad.

I have compared this ball with the Schizo, and also the Diva Pearl.

The Rude Dude is such a GREAT ball and right now this ball is my starting ball and the last 3 weeks I have only used this ball or the Schizo. My pin up ball is the one I have used the most on Fresh lane conditions and if I get any carry down, I go to my Pin down Rude Dude. This ball get threw the heads really well and has great recovery off the back and is really smooth off the back and it still hits really hard. I recommend using this ball on Light to Medium lane conditions, and also THS. If the Rude Dude is just not enough, I go to the Schizo and I have not had any problems getting the pocket. The Rude Dude and the Schizo is a great 1-2 punch. If the Rude Dude is to much, then I have gone to the Diva Pearl and The Diva Pearl is much smoother in the back as my Rude Dude is. If you want a great Starting ball and a ball that looks great and strikes a lot, you will need to get a Rude Dude, because for the price you will not go wrong. DV8 has come out with another GREAT ball and I can't wait for what they come out with next.

If you want a ball for Heavy oil this is not the ball, but just go to the Schizo, or the Ruckus Feud.

I want to thank DV8 for producing the Best Balls on the market right now!! If you have not purchased the Rude Dude or the Schizo yet, you need to. This ball will help you with completing your Arsenal.

Likes: Love this ball, I won the ball last weekend at a tournament and had it drilled last Wed. The first game out of the box on freshly oiled lanes (THS) was 235. The second game I shot, in a different house 200 miles away and on a burned up THS lanes was 278. The ball goes smooth through the fronts, reads midway and has a continuous move to the pocket and carries nicely.
I put the ball bag in my bag and am saving it for league night. It seems to be one hell of a ball.

When I first saw the specs for the Rude Dude, my first thought was "Oh boy, another ball with some kind of compound on it. Why don't they make a sanded symmetrical ball?" The Marauder Madness was a great ball for me so I thought I was missing that in my bag since mine had been retired for a while. The Rude Dude cover is that strong that it was better to put some compound on it so that it didn't hook TOO much. Out fo the box, the Rude Dude cover is strong enough to handle oil, even with the comound on it. I was very surprised at the amount of hook this ball gave.

The black/purple Dude was my favorite ball of all time. I could slow down and use it when they were tight, I could throw it normal when they were average, and I can step left and get around it when the lanes hooked. That ball matched up to my game better than I have ever seen. Because I have a long/high backswing, it is difficult for me to try and slow down. I had the hardest time with the Dude when I had to slow down to get it to turn up to the pocket. I still had success doing so, but that is where I had the most trouble with the Dude.

The new Rude Dude is designed to handle medium to heavy oil. The times where I had to work to get my Dude to face up with pocket is the perfect situation for the Rude Dude. It digs through oil and makes a hard continuous move off of the dry, so you don't have to try and make the ball do things. You can just relax and focus on your routine, knowing the ball is going to read the lanes the way you need it to. This is the best 1-2 combination in the game, without a doubt.

The original Dude gets a lot of play time as I love how it scoots effortlessly through the middle and wanted to drill my Rudes to be a nice compliment for when the Dudes were just a little too weak. I drilled 2 Rudes:

60x4x65 Pin below ring finger at 2k
60x5x25 LONG Pin 2" above the ring finger in box finish (equivalent to about 4000).

My pin down Rude has been fantastic on tougher patterns. I took it with me to Reno and cashed was in the top 20 at 2 of the BTM side events at Grand Sierra and cashed with it bowling on fresh at the BJ. What I like about this ball is that it splits the difference between the solid Diva and the original Dude. In comparison, my pin down solid Diva revs up a lot sooner and is most effective when I want to cheat into the oil a little bit. The Rude Dude is best when I want to stay parallel to the lane while maintaining that gentle balance of being able to hold the line playing straighter but still having enough grip to recover on fresh lanes if I don't throw a perfect shot.

My second Rude Dude is a gap ball because I bowl in a 5man men's league in a house with 30 year old synthetics that starts dry and gets drier. The reason for the pin being 2" above my ring finger is that most people's equipment either rolls out or gets a little touchy downlane with polish. This Rude allows me to get my hand around the ball and play inside 5 arrow without worrying about the ball rolling out. It grips enough to give me a chance to kick the 10 if I am either a little firm or inside, but pops hard enough to hit hard if I catch the dry early. I have not used a ball with such a tall pin before, but I definitely see the merits in having the layout. I have tried this ball at a couple other houses and it has been way too angular to be effective, but for playing a deep inside angle this ball has been amazing - amazing enough that I currently have -14 handicap.

I was excited when I heard DV8 was making another Dude. I won't hide that I was hoping for a sanded solid to compliment the Original Dude. The Rude Dude's 7G Reactive cover is so strong, it's probably a good thing they finished it with Royal Compound. For me, the Rude Dude is a great ball for fresh, medium to long sport patterns and medium/heavy THS. It is also a great compliment to the Original Dude. It picks up and digs into the lane where the OD came up short. I don't have to try and be so precise with my ball speed as much as I had to when the lanes had more volume or backends were a little tighter and the OD wouldn't quite face up. I know I was hoping for a sanded solid, but I am very happy with the 500/Royal Compound factory finish. At the box finish, I can stay with the RD longer and move in without fear that the ball will lose tilt and rotation too fast as the lanes dry out. The Rude Dude and Dude make a great 1-2 punch for your league and tournament bag. The Rude Dude is a lot of ball at its price point.

The Rude Dude is a bomb! If you liked the original Dude you will love this ball! I drilled mine 60x4x45 with a medium to high rev rate and the motion down lane with this ball is amazing. It gets down lane cleaner than the original dude with more angular backend. I have used this ball on a house shot and several sport patterns and you can play up the boards or get in and swing it. This ball is great for anybodyâ€™s game. If you want a ball that is controllable and doesnâ€™t read off the dry boards violently this is the ball for you!
