The new Turmoil 2 Solid is an update from the Turmoil solid from about a year ago. The difference the 2 has an updated core/cover combo that gives a fresh shape in the middle of the current DV8 line. Basically, you will see a little more length and flip with this solid over the original.
I missed the original Solid as I signed on about a month after the release of the og Turmoils. So I have the Og Hybrid as a comparison for the new Solid. In terms of overall strength, I have the Turmoil 2 Solid a good 3 and 2 move left from the Hybrid.
While the Hybrid is a quicker response cover, what I have seen is the Turmoil 2 Solid and the Hybrid are very similar in shape with the solid being earlier by nature. Don't let this new solid fool you, it has a lot of backend for a solid cover!! I like this as typically I can start with the Hybrid knowing that if it isn't quite enough ball I just ball up to the new solid and keep the same shape.
Overall I like this new cover/core combo, and I think the overall motion will catch a lot of folks eyes that are your typical league bowler. This ball is a ton of overall hook for this price point, combined with a great color scheme that looks great going down the lane. If you are looking for a great benchmark first ball out of your bag, give the new Turmoil 2 Solid a look, you wont be disappointed!
