2nd Vandal Drill Patterns Need Advice
« on: March 16, 2016, 07:40:59 PM »
I have a Vandal and have been killing the lanes with this ball.  I have it drilled to go long and hit hard in the back end.  I bowl in a house with a lot of oil but desert condition from 5 board out to the gutter.  The bowlers with the highest averages, in general, play straight.  The Vandal is the first ball out of my bag and I usually bowl around 250 for the first game.  I will usually throw it up the 6 board.  By the 2nd game this part of the lane dries out and I'm pushed much further left. If I try to stay in my spot the ball gets jumpy.  If I moves left my carry goes down because of the amount of oil.  I was thinking of drilling a second Vandal but drilling it to pick up the lane sooner and to be more controllable to use for the 2nd game.  What do you guys think of this dual angle drilling: 45 x 4.5 x 70.  My speed is about 15mph, with average revs and my average is 225 to 230.

Thanks

The cover on the Vandal is very clean through the front part of the lane and might not hook enough in the midlane if you have to move deeper with a 2nd one drilled with a pin under your fingers drilling. If you drill a 2nd one that is pin down, I would suggest taking the cover to 2000 to help it read the oil better. Based on your speed and rev rate, you might want to use a dual angle drilling of 40 x 4 x 60 which should make it flare more and read the midlane better. If you are looking for something that is stronger that would read the midlane better, I would suggest the Thug Corrupt in the DV8 line.
