I used my Deviant in league play this past Monday night. What I found on the fresh  the Deviant  is smooth through the heads and get more length compared to my Vandal.  I was lined up on 20 and targeted 10.  I changed my hand position  from my normal position and tilt to more up the back of the ball.  This played  incredibly clean through the front of the lane, and makes a great, hard, turn at the breakpoint.

As the shot transitioned I then lined up on 30 and changed to my normal hand position and axis tilt.  With this change the ball  became a whole different  ball.  It still was very clean through the front but when it hit the breakpoint the ball  reacted like  it was shot out of a slingshot.  The Deviant is  very versatile  .
 With the new Solid Composite V coverstock and the Deviant Medium RG Symmetric core is a great combination  ,and is  giving  a whole new look and performance never seen before in our products . 
The Deviant gives me great confidence in the mid-range of my arsenal. The thing I'm most impressed with is this ball's predictability.

If you haven't pre ordered this ball yet do it today.  I recommend evryone add the DV8 Deviant
to their arsenal.

This ball has quickly become my go to ball. I drilled it up last week and really liked the reaction I saw. I went 70x4.5x40 no balance hole. The ball gets down the lane really clean with the OOB finish and has a very predictable move on the back end. I went 641 the first night out after struggling to pull my head out of my rear in game 1. New ball fever had me thinking I had Ciminelli type revs. I settled down and had a wonderful look. Over the past week I put 20 plus games of practice in to get some mechanics figured out. I us d the Deviant and Thug Life a lot just to get some games in and really see where they fit in. Last night I used the Deviant all night with games of 268-279-256 for 803. I started out playing straighter angles and not trying to get around the ball too quick. As the night went on I made 2 small moves as I started to come in a little high. This will make a great benchmark ball in anyone's bag. The Composite V solid cover and new core shape fits perfectly in the DV8 lineup. It takes the place of the Dude very well. Actually, I feel it is a better ball than the Dude and Rude Dude. I used the Dude a lot but It seemed to be allergic to oil at times, especially if there was a little carry down. The RG numbers are similar, but the total differential is higher. Combine the slightly st on get core with the new cover and you have a much better footprint on the lane with a more consistent reaction shot to shot. I will be drilling up at least one more and sanding it to 1k to fit in my arsenal and take the place of my Rude Dude.

It fits in just below the Vandal.  For me it's cleaner through the front, and about 2-3 less on the back end.  It's also about 2 feet longer for me.  It is strong on the back when it gets to the break point.   The Vandal and Deviant compliment each other perfectly.

I drilled mine 45x5x.35 (OTB)
threw this on Kegel Red Pattern(pattern says 40ft and Flat) but being the volume is not that high the back ends where screaming. I threw it 25 to 13 at 50ft and threw 9 strikes back before leaving a solid 9 pin. This ball is really clean, If you liked the Vandal this compliments it, I would say its 1 ball down. I was getting about 4 boards less on the back end then the Vandal, I also have a Melee Jab drilled the same and compared to the Jab its 2 stronger and just as smooth.
This ball will for sure be in my bag. Great Medium to Oil ball
