DV8 Light Oil Ball
« on: September 06, 2014, 09:41:28 PM »
Don't know anything about DV8 balls.  Which ball is their light - medium oil ball ?  How does it compare to the Brunswick Strike King, Columbia 300 Freeze, and Ebonite's Cyclone ?

Their lightest oil balls have two choices:
Red/Orange Misfit (a solid) [smaller RG differential than the regular Misfit]
Yellow Misfit pearl.

For medium-light to medium oil, it depends on your ball speed/rev ratio.

For rev dominant or matched, I'd suggest the regular Misfit solid
For speed dominant, probably the Dude, maybe the Diva solid.

I have the Dude, (2) original Misfits and a Strike King. My Revs/Speed are fairly close but maybe a bit rev dominant. The Strike King at box was a bit jumpy for me but at 2000 its super smooth and my best ball for the dry. The Misfit and Dude both handle close to the same light-medium conditions but with differant shapes. Hope that helps a bit.

By the time I ball down to my misfit pearl,  the lanes are already so toasted in the front that I have a hard time getting a line. I love the ball when I can use it though. I am about to take the newspaper to it.
