DV8 Misfit, An oldie and a hidden Goodie
« on: July 30, 2018, 11:32:31 PM »
I have had this ball a few months, lying around.

Lately my house has acquired a new Kegel Ikon Machine and is allowing bowlers to try 3 different oils over a several week period all with the same House shot pattern Stone Street.  The oils are Curve, Ice, and Prodigy(been in the house for years).

What has really impressed me is this green solid Misfit with the slow responding Class 1  reactive cover.

A great matchup for me on both Curve and Prodigy.  Not so much Ice(but I have another DV* ball that works on that shot!  (I am starting to think that DV8 is a company very favorable to lefties).

A little more description may be helpful.  Why do I like this ball so much?  Well as many know when the left side is fresh it is quite dramatic in how much reaction one gets  off the fresh wet/Dry.  Many great solids I have tried on shots like this have been the Roto Grip Sonic X, Rotogrip Saturn, Rotogrip Sonic Boom!  All of these are quite good and have their niche.  However the lower rg and higher flare Misfit with it's slower reacting coverstock matches up with it's earlier revving and higher revving core. It really Slurves to the pocket with such continuous motion it both makes it's move sooner than the higher RG options above and yet has more drive once there than the lower flare options above.

The controlled skid of a solid reactive with barely more response to dry than Urethane.

Loving it!

Regards,

PS my current surface 3000 with a light sheen pushed to far on the ICE!  Until they settle on an oil option I didn't want to adjust surface.
