Any thoughts on this ball? Looks kinda like a Phaze 2 and the specs seem to agree. Definitely interested in this one myself.

Strong solid cover from the Instigator on low rg core. I'd say close to the Hammer Sauce, maybe a little less motion. Verge would get use from me on short to mid length patterns with higher volume

I've never been able to figure out a great comparison with the Phase II. It's an interesting combination that just seems to work really well

I agree! The Verge has a really strong cover.  Lots of mid lane for me.  Great piece but on the right condition.

I was at a Brunswick ball seminar last weekend and Billy O was frustrated that the stigma of "Brunswick balls hook early" from 10 years ago still exists in the minds of bowlers today.
One of the comparisons he showed was the Verge vs the Phase II and Idol Solid with all 3 balls being really close according to Specto.  Throwbot (I suspect it being Ric Flare) was a board deeper at laydown and a board wider at the breakpoint with the Verge.

I just got a Verge, and have only a few practice games on it. Still, I don't think it falls into the "early hook" category. It gets through the mids well for a ball with a strong cover.

Finally drilled mine up and I can say it does clear the early part of the lane really well.  Did not expect that when see the sanded cover right out of the box, but was actually able to use on a THS that I have been having horrible over/under reactions at.  This ball smoothed out that over/under while still having enough to finish on the backend.

This is a hooking monster. I haven’t had a ball hook this much in a long time. I’ve attempted to roll it on 2 different house patterns at 39 and 41 feet, but the volume was too low for me to reliably trust getting the ball to the pocket. I expect this ball will come out when I am on 44+ foot patterns. This ball may be very similar to a Columbia 300 Baller which was very strong to begin with, but a little lane shine on the ball helped tame it down. That’ll be the expectation with this ball as well. Without a doubt, this ball should be used on heavy volume patterns

This is the first DV8 ball I've drilled and I gotta say it is pretty darn good. It has a strong solid cover so it has a big shape, but does not read too soon and burn out. It has plenty of power at the pins. If you were a fan of EBI balls I would say the Verge is very similar to the Ebonite Futura or Columbia 300 Chaos. I had those 2 very similar and this is very close as well. It has the same strong benchmark characteristics. Very predictable shape. I would use it on fresh, long, or high volume oil patterns. The navy & red make it a good looking ball as well.

Bought this today. Just want it to be earlier and handle more oil than my prism hybrid for game 1 fresh THS if that's sliding too far
