marauder seconds

Girlfriend got me marauder off ebay.  it is a factory second. Am i screwed?

Depends on how picky you are... could be a long pin, high or low top weight, wrong engraving, slightly off color, or a small factory repair.

I had a Mojave that had a few repairs of less than 1/4" in diameter. I saw an N'Tense LevRG with Mojave engraving.  I haven't seen a lot of factory seconds from the Big B plant in a while, so I'm not sure what they are releasing to the public now...

It will probably be fine unless something is really wrong with the it. Do you have any specs on it?

You're fine, most of our 2nds are minor aesthetic issues that will not affect performance.

I have bought a few DV8 2nds off ebay and literally couldn't figure out why they were 2nds. Got the pin distance I asked for and the top weight was around 2.5ozs.

Ball has 4 -6 inch pin and 2.8 top weight. Just looks like there is some minor scratches. Cant see anything wrong with it.

Be on the Safe side, I've been a victim of believing the Box info from Brunswick since they moved to Mexico, take the ball to your Pro Shop, have Him/Her do a Full weight & Cg placement before drilling your ball. I once purchased a NIB Purple Rhino (Remake) off Ebay, the box said 14.4 pounds, 3-4 Pin & 3.0 Top, I placed the Pin just above the bridge with the Cg stacked below, then we did the final weight, as it turned out, the ball was not 14.4 before drilling because after drilling only 2 Finger's & 1 Thumb, it weighed a Heavy 13lbs., the Pin distance was wrong also, instead of being 3-4, the Cg was actually 1-2 so my new ball had 2 ounces Finger weight. Long story short, most Brunswick ball info on boxes is correct but be on the Safe side with 2nd's.

All it took for me was one incident in the shop, then I always weigh the ball after drawing lines on it. It should be a common practice.
