Title: Misfit Vs. Wrecker
Post by: mogators on December 08, 2013, 03:08:58 PM
Picking up a used orange/blue Misfit (my first DV8) and noticed the RG/Diff numbers are very similar to the Roto Grip Wrecker.  Obviously they have different coverstocks but wondering if I drilled them the same what differences would I see.  I would expect the solid Misfit to be a little earlier and smoother overall.  Anyone thrown both?

I think you have answered your own question pal.

I have both, the wrecker is much stronger than my misfit.  The wrecker has the pin above the ring finger and the misfit has the pin under the middle finger.  I use the wrecker for medium heavy to medium conditions and the misfit when the lanes are dry.  The wrecker is a flippy ball for me and the misfit is much smoother.  The misfit really smooths out the over/under when the lanes break down.

rdw, I have two Wreckers.  One is pin above the bridge that does get very flippy and the other is pin below the bridge and it is much smoother but with still a good finish.  My best series with them is with the pin-up but I get more use out of the pin-down.  I'm thinking of drilling the Misfit with a pin-down with a low x-hole or maybe pin above ring finger.  Since it is a solid, it may still be a little smoother than the Wrecker even with a pin-up drilling.

The orange/blue is definitely weaker than your Wrecker.  I went pin down on my misfit and use it for camping in the track.
