Nationals Arsenal
« on: May 01, 2014, 02:24:17 PM »
Has anybody bowled yet and have any suggestions? I am leaving in 5 weeks and looking for some feedback on what equipment, surface etc. worked or didn't work. I am trying to decide on 4 of these 5 balls to bring.

Endless Nightmare- pin up, thinking either 1000 or2000

Yeti Untamed- pin up, thinking 4000 or 500 then compound??

Reckless- pin to right of ring, haven't decided if I should bring yet and if so what surface.

Pearl Diva- pin down, leaving at box

Dude- pin up, smooth of spot box surface. Can't hook it a lot but good for going straight.
Anybody have any suggestions, I can play straight or get in and hook it.

Watching the guys that have had big success this year seem to be throwing equipment thats no angular at all.....I Would recommend nothing to dull b/c they do hook out there. But nothing SUPER shinny. So surface prep say from 2000 - 4000.
Some stuff with royal compound on it. I think you will be throwing a lot of the dude and the yeti.

I dont have any idea how u throw it but thats my guess for equipment and surface preps.Good luck out there! Bring a spare ball you will prob need it

If I put the Endless at 2000 should I put the Yeti at 4000 or 500/ rough buff? Do you think the Diva will be to angular? Should I bring the Reckless instead and put box surface on that. Thanks for the input, I am a medium rev player that like I said earlier can go straight when needed but move in and hook it.

The Diva pearl should prob stay at box finish. Endless Maybe like 2000 with some polish and yeti at 4000 sounds good. Id feel better throwing the diva than the reckless(Never threw a reckless)

Got back from Nationals two weeks ago, been meaning to add to the discussion.  Had been a Track guy forever, figured I would get something new stuff drilled and decided upon DV8, as I thought who would know better what would work on the patterns.  Guys at the Pro Shop were outstanding, Joe (GM) and Andy H were outstanding.  Joe recommended Feud, Ruckus, Mutiny.  Ryan C. was there as well (though I read that he left at the beginning of this week).  Anyway, Joe drilled a Ruckus Feud pin down (new drilling for me) - shot 626 in Teams, only 1148 in Minors, but I attribute that to operator-error especially as I look back now.  OOB Feud was used all 3 games, threw Feud for half of game 1 in Minors, then went to Mutiny.  Went to Ruckus and had a better look, wish I had gone Ruckus.  Going to stay with DV8 for a while.
