Reckless Surface Changing
« on: March 28, 2013, 10:52:44 PM »
I recently found a reckless online and had it punched up.  I love the shape!!  I can hit flush from multiple angles. I am, however, having some carry issues. I THINK it might be burning up just a little. Has anyone polished, or dulled for that matter, a reckless? If so, what differences did you see? This is such a different reaction than I see with storm, but I really think if I can up the carry percentage, this thing will be lethal. Btw... Mine is drilled 45-4 3/4-45.  Thanks

Try a small amount of polish then try it again. If it's truly burning up this should make a difference for you.

I have 1 reckless polished and 1 at 2k. I use the 2k to start most nights in practice to calm down the backend reaction I see in our area, (everyone wants tons of hook on the back). The 2k reckless is pin under my middle finger with the cg kicked right of the center line. It gives me that smooth midlane read and tame backend that I need, but I also get great carry because the ball is hooking in the right part of the lane.

The reckless that is polished has the pin above my ring finger about an 1 1/2"-2" and the cg just right of the center line, and this allows me to go from the 2k reckless to this ball and play the same line. The pin up and polish gives me that little extra delayed hook with a more defined read on the backend. It isn't a backend monster, but it's just enough to kick the 10 out.

thanks,

A little dab will do ya.  I put a small amount of polish on it and it gave it that little bit more backend that I needed to get the corners out.  I was thankful to see that the ball did not lose it's overall shape which makes controlling the pocket really easy.  I threw a 751 last night with only 2 corner pins.

Appreciate the help.
