I bowled out association tournament this past weekend and what a session it was.  I started out in practice with my Guru Supreme like I do most sessions but found it to be too much off the breakpoint.  I tried multiple angle with the ball and did not like my look at the end of practice.  The first ball for score I switched to my Deviant and never looked back.  I went 255 - 267 - 277 - 799.  The deviant gave me a smooth predictable motion that gave me a little room both ways.  The lanes played wet dry and my deviant was able to smooth that a bit.  I have my ball drilled 60 x 4.5 x 70 with no hole.  My stats are 425 rpm, 16.5 mph and PAP 5" rt.

I have drilled several balls lately, but this one is the strongest at the break point, with the most continuity through the pins.  One of people I was bowling against commented that it was as if the pins were not even there due to the lack of deflection.  As I left several 8 pins (lefty) I think keeping a bit of surface on the ball would do this ball well.

I drilled this ball 75 x 5 x 70 which put the pin down, and decided to leave the Royal Compound box finish that was on the ball. There are many great things to say about this ball.  First, the cover is very responsive to alterations.  I’ve seen a lot of bowlers hit this ball with a 4,000 or 2000 Siaar pad to take the shine off and smooth the roll of this ball.  Second this ball responds very well in the mid-lane and off the pattern making a strong continuation motion through the pocket.  Finally, this can definitely be a benchmark ball, and used almost anywhere on any conditions.  Even though my pin is under the fingers, this ball still hooks very hard off the spot.  By leaving the finish on the ball, I’ve noticed it breaks very sharply in friction, and has tremendous recovery.  I feel I have a tremendous amount of forgiveness with this ball, and with its stored energy makes it a powerful hitting bowling ball.

I have seen the same reactions as Troy. Mine is also used as a benchmark ball with a wet 2000 Abralon finish to smooth out the reaction off the spot.

Side note... Has anyone else noticed the overpowering chemical aroma on these composite covers?
