Hello Group,
I'm new to the DV8 brand so I got the Hellraiser Revenge yesterday and WOW! its as amazing as everyone says.

So I'm looking for your suggestions on what DV8 ball would go between the Hellraiser Revenge and my Hammer "Nail" (the new one) Thanks

You could look at possibly something like a Marauder and change the cover on it from OOB to say 4000 with no polish.  The thing with DV8 is their cover preps from the factory are quite a bit different than the Ebonite International stuff.  So you may have to do some tweaking to get the desired reaction you are looking for.

I cant make up my mind between the "Too Reckless" and the "Marauder" but I think I leaning more towards the "Too Reckless".

From what I've seen, the Too Reckless is more of a skid/snap solid that gets a ton of length.  The Marauder seems to get a little more midlane although it has a strong backend.  I think the Marauder may be the better way to go.

I agree with tommyboy in that the Marauder would be a better choice for a ball in between the ones you have now. It will have a smoother motion overall than the Too Reckless. The Marauder is a great benchmark ball that can be used on medium to lighter oil condidtions. The Too Reckless with the box condidtion has a skid flip reaction that can be used on medium to lighter oil conditions as well.  Both balls take well to surface changes, and might work better with a 2000 or 4000 surface. Good luck with the new DV8 balls.

Thanks Group,
Since the Too-Reckless @ OOB gives a skid flip reaction would putting it @ 2000AB make it an even arcing type of 'solid'?

The reason I ask is cause my Hammer 'Nail' is a very good med-lite ball so I'm just trying to not have my usual over lap that I seem to get, LOL

It will definitely make it earlier at 2k, and should mellow down the skid flip but it will still have pretty easy length through the heads.  At 2k it will read and pick earlier and the move won't be as immediate as it would be at box.

I'd start with 4k and work my way down until you get the reaction you're looking for, surface changes are easy.  Good luck

I am in the Too Reckless camp.  I think it is a more versatile ball.  Stronger cover, can handle a little more oil and won't step on the toes of your Revenge.  I worry that the Marauder is a little too much like the nail

Woot, Woot!! a buddy of mine swapped me his (original) Hellraiser for my Nano-pearl!! so now I have the "Hellraiser Revenge", "Hellraiser", and orange/blue "Misfit".

I'm gonna put the (original) Hellraiser at 3K abralon and go from there, so I'm pretty excited about my recent DV8 purchases :-)

So my next ball will be the "Too Reckless". I already dropped off the (original) Hellraiser at my pro shop and I'll have it later today and I'll use it tonight....

OK, so I traded for the Hell Raiser, however, my friend didnt know that it was a 16lb ball so my other friend bought the Hell raiser and so I bought as new "Too Reckless".

So as of now, I have the 'Hell Raiser Revenge', 'Too Reckless', and 'The Misfit' and I really, really, like these DV8 balls. I am sold on them so much that I am selling a lot of

my other gear, Roto-Grip, Storm, Hammer, and whatever I have  8) to build a nice DV8 arsenal! I really like the "Too Reckless" as I can play up the boards and I can also swing that puppy and it is so smoooooth.

If I find a 15lb Hell Raiser or Reckless at a good price I think I would pick it up but right now my DV8 3 ball arsenal is nice for where I bowl and maybe I'll do great in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks when I have my sweepers there!! Later DV8 peeps,  ;)

A friend of mine has the Reckless, Too Reckless, and Marauder and all 3 were within a couple boards of one another with same surface and similar layouts.  You would need to do some significant layout differences and/or surface tweaks.  IMO.....you should look into a Marauder Madness instead of a Reckless because there is a little more gap as far as ball roll when comparing it to a Too Reckless.  The Reckless and Too Reckless are too close together unless you are ready to do some significant surface tweaking (from 500, Rough Buff to 2000-3000 no polish).

One more thing I want to add, is that since you already have a Revenge, the Madness could fill that gap between the Revenge and the Too Reckless nicely without having to look at getting both the Reckless and original Hell Raiser.
