Terror and Marauder...Wow!!
« on: August 23, 2012, 06:45:32 PM »
Ok. First let me say i've been a Storm guy for awhile. Well a friend who is a staffer talked me into giving dv8 a shot. So i went into the shop and told my driller to get me a Terror and Marauder on the way. Got them and had a chance to roll some last night. I have never had a ball that opened up the lane like the Terror did for me. Even with a pin down layout. The ball got through the heads so clean my initial thought was well this isn't going to do much..then WOW! The angle this ball creates is incredible. I was equally impressed with the Marauder. While not as strong I was amazed I could strike from 1st arrow to fourth arrow with minimal adjustments with my hand. I never thought I would find a hybrid as good as my Hyroad has been to me but I might have. I will let the jury still be out on it being as good as the Hyroad, but so far it is very impressive. I am already thinking about adding a Revenge and green/white misfit. These balls are that good. This isn't your grandfather's Brunswick product. So leads me to my next question for staffers or anyone in general. I know the Terror and Marauder just came out but what would you like to see from dv8 next? I personally would like to see a Marauder solid and maybe hybrid Misfit. Although I haven't used a Misfit yet from what I've seen ball looks good too. Great job Brunswick?Dv8. Keep the good equipment coming.

I've got all 3 Hellraisers, a P/Y Misfit, and the Marauder. I LOVE them all.
Original Hellraiser is the best high end benchmark ball I've ever thrown.
Revenge, well the best ball I've ever thrown period. 300 x3 with mine
Terror gives you the length and HOOK when you need it!
Marauder, haven't thrown too much yet, but nothing to complain about on a house shot.
and finally the Misfit. I don't know why they are selling a high performance ball at an entry level price, 'cause this ball is killer. Smooth and strong with great carry.

I'm just a typical house bowler, average of 220 (give or take), but I go through bowling balls like a staffer for sure and the DV8 balls are the only ones to keep me coming back for more! Only one in my house that throws DV8 and I'm getting heads to turn every night, and you'll have no problem doing the same with yours, I'm sure. Good Luck with any future dv8's you come across!

It's always great hearing that people love the products. I personally haven't thrown a Terror, but I've seen enough in action to know that's one amazing ball. RS, you noted the Marauder's versatility in your post and I wholeheartedly agree. Even just practicing on the house shot today with some friends, I could stay with the Marauder for all 8 games and just kept moving in and changing hand positions without any decrease in carry percentage. One quote that stood out from a buddy was "Are you sure that ball is only $120?!?" As for the question about what I'd like to see, the Misfits for me are still a little strong for a lower-end priced ball. Thus, I'd like to see something below the misfits that's a little weaker overall but still the same downlane flip

I totally agree with you Jared about an entry level ball.  The terror lets me jump left and play angles that I have never been able to play with an asym before.

I got myself a terror and I agree, WOW. I don't know how else to explain to my friends and customers in my shop. This ball will come back from anywhere and when it hits its like a vortex just sucks pins 1 through 10 away.
