Turmoil Pearl & Turmoil Solid
« on: April 18, 2018, 04:57:55 PM »
Looks like the Turmoil Pearl and Turmoil Solid hit the approved list yesterday. Pearl is a yellow, purple, green mix that just looks like a DV8 ball. Solid is red, white, and blue reminiscent of Brunswick's Ultimate Nirvana.

Will be interesting to see if DV8 ever starts making balls specifically targeted towards the mid to mid/low end of the spectrum. That's a clear hole in their lineup and has been for a while. Maybe these two new balls will be a step in that direction.

But probably not. I'm guessing either simultaneous dual high-end release like Hammer did with the Rip'd balls or a new low-end entry to replace the Alley Cat balls. More likely the latter with summer coming up. Or overseas. That's always a possibility.

If we're placing bets, I think they are the replacement for the Freak Show series based on the design. The original Freak Show and Freak Show Solid came out in 2016 while the Flip came out a year ago also

Looks like I was right. They modified the Freak Show core by raising the rg and lowering the diff. What's interesting is they're at a slightly lower price point

Also modified Brunswick Zone core. At this point it should be slightly discounted.

The mid diff core is something sorely needed in the line since the Dudes

I can see these being surprisingly very good additions.

I bowled next to Eric Forkel Saturday night and watched him throw the Turmoil Solid. Also saw another guy throwing both the solid and pearl.

In my eyes, the Turmoil Solid is what I pictured the Freak Show Solid being. The tweaked core seems to offer a little more control where the Freak Shows can really flip over

I watched a staffer throw the solid one, and it had too much hook for the house we bowl in, but he also have a 560ish rev rate.

SVstar,

Do you see it being like the Danger Zone core?

I'm not too sure. If I took a guess, I'd say it's closer than the Freak Shows. I'd also say these covers are still at least a full step up from the Danger Zone

SV,

Oh wow!  I have not seen this new DV8.  I was pretty impressed with how Strong the Coverstock was on the Danger Zone Vintage I have.  What do they call it?  PK 2016.

I forget the name but I love the smooth strength!
