What ball next
« on: February 01, 2017, 06:37:30 PM »
This is what I have for current equipment below, and was wondering what I should do to round out what I have. I  am a low rev bowler with high speed, I have been working on keep my feet slow. The biggest issue I run into is when I move in, I tend to throw washouts, and if I stay outside I leave 10 pins. I know I need to keep practicing on playing more in, but I feel like when I do throw a great shot in I dont get the ball reaction. I was thinking of adding either the Cash, Pitbull, or True Nirvana. What is everyone thoughts?

Quantum Fire
Freakshow Pearl
Quantum Forest
Orginal Grudge - Pin Down
Vandal Hybrid - Waiting to be drilled
Vandal Smash
Vandal

Update: 2-7-17 I finally got my Vandal Destroy drilled and this ball is perfect, and everything I was missing. I went 676 with it in league.

So I would have your arsenal ranked somewhat like this in terms of strength:

Grudge
Vandal Smash
Quantum Forest Green
Vandal Destroy
Vandal
Quantum Fire Pearl
Freakshow

To be honest I don't see anything that's missing. A top-end asymmetric pearl like the True Nirvana might be useful but if you're a low-rev bowler with high speed I don't know how well you would get that to react. The Cash sounds like it sits above everything so that might give you something strong enough to grab when playing in. At the same time is it going to be significantly different than the Grudge? Eh. Same goes for the Pitbull but that's probably even closer to the Grudge.

Like you said, practice is your best bet. The equipment is there. Just get more comfortable playing different lines and if possible maybe some coaching help to expand your game even further. Matching your revs with your speed would go a long, long ways towards getting the results you're looking for.

Thank you for you input CoorZero.

I would agree with your ball assessment except for the vandal, that ball for me is my weakest. I have read the the Pitbull is 3-4 boards stronger than the grudge so that doesn't seem to big of a jump, but heard its a smoother motion down lane. Then there is the hype with the cash of being the most hooking, but how often would you really use that on THS, but would only use on tournaments. I play on various modified house shots, but also a few sport patterns.  I do avg 192 in my current league, but had 632, 654,650 over the weekend  and a 277 game. I think more time on the lanes, which I have been doing has paid off. It helps getting opinions for other to see something I might not have noticed.

Grudge
Vandal Smash
Quantum Forest Green
Vandal Destroy * Havent thrown this yet
Quantum Fire Pearl
Freakshow
Vandal

My thoughts are a low rg midrange solid which would be nice for blending out wet/dry house patterns or short patterns where you want to play first arrow and want to control the booming backends.  For that I would recommend the Freakshow Solid.
