What would be comparable to a 607A?
« on: October 16, 2012, 09:16:22 PM »
My 607A developed a really nice crack in it. It was my go to 3rd game, sometimes 2nd depending on the pair. I dont care about core #s, I care about reaction. Im thinking either a Too Reckless or a Marauder, any opinions?

If you can still grab one and prefer to stay with Track, the 811A or the new 706A would be close. As for the Too Reckless or a Marauder, I think the Marauder would be closer in reaction to a 607A. Just my humble opinion.

Nothing in the Brunswick or DV8 line is really similiar to the 607A SE as it had a different shot shape than anything you will find in the new ball market. Even within the Track line, there really isn't anything similiar to it right now. The 811A would be closest, but it would be much longer, but just as flippy. I would assume they are talking about total hook which is where the two balls would be similiar.

If you want the 607A SE reaction I would hold off and wait for the new hybrid coming out the 811 C/T as I would venture it will be the closest to what you are looking for.

Further, as to the parallel between the 607A SE and the 706A, there is nothing remotely similiar about these two balls. The 607A SE is the definition of hook in a box, it flips no matter what, often times to hard and uncontrollably without the proper surface. The 706A is the definition of long, smooth, and arcy.

Mine wasnt that big of a hook, needed alot of dry to turn. It would skate if there was too much oil. It was very angular though. Marauder has been ordered.

You'll like it. The Marauder definitely comes into play when there is more friction to throw at. Out of box, it will wiggle on more volume, but when they break down, have a blast :)

I would agree that the Marauder is a good choice.  If it is a little too flippy with the box surface, take it to 4000. It is a great ball!  Good luck with it.
