WHOS DRILLING NEW BALLS TOMORROW?
« on: January 22, 2013, 10:09:30 AM »
Aside from the staffers, the new balls are out tomorrow! Anyone planning on drilling one or two or all three?  I know I've got the Brutal and Pearl Misfit coming and Im really excited on the looks of these reactions.  They're going to fit perfect in my bag and are some looks that Im missing currently.  Its been a while since I've been this excited for some new gear.

My girlfriend is having a Diva drilled.  Our driller is 2 hours away so she won't be able to get it until this weekend.

Haven't tried DV8 yet, but I should have the Brutal Nightmare for my league on Friday! Pretty excited about it. My wife has the Diva on the way too.

Misfit pearl is intriguing to me too, I'll probably order that one up soon.

Planning on getting my first DV8 within the next 3 weeks or so. Leaning towards the Maraduer Madness to replace my Ebonite Gamebreaker at the moment.

Waiting for Meanstreak Brawler.  Seen a staffer throw it. Ball held in the oil (and carried the 10) and came back like a truck from the outside. He has thrown all 6 new balls coming out and hands down the Brawler is the best of the bunch. He's a tweener med. speed.

I'd like to put holes in a Misfit Pearl but I'm just not bowling enough to warrant another piece.

If you can get over the heart on the side, the ball roll of the diva is one of the best ive thrown in awhile

I just got my Diva.  I still need to get it drilled, but besides the heart, it's not as "girlie" as people thought.  Can't wait to throw it.

I know in my area people are actually really excited about these new balls.  Its great to see.  I hope Brunswick and DV8 stick to the 4 month margin for releasing balls.  Seems like the right amount of time give the balls time to sell before bringing out something new.

Count me in as one of those people. I just got a Nightmare around the new year, and immediately put in an order for all 3 new balls (plus a Diva for my wife). I was hoping to have them for a tournament this past weekend, but they are supposed to be drilled up today. Actually looking forward to the Diva the most. I just converted to throwing 2 handed less than 2 years ago and I think this ball will allow me to use it on a wide range of patterns. I think most of my Hammer equipment will be staying home from now on.

Picked up my new balls last night. These are the first balls I've had drilled using my two handed PAP. I thought about drilling them thumbless, but decided to keep the thumb there. Still bowl one handed sometimes when I'm too sore.

Anyway, I was able to throw the balls for a few shots each on fresh oil at the wood house I picked them up from. It will be a challenge to use any except for the Misfit Pearl there unless I get some speed behind the throws - especially on the right lane. I'll know more when I actually get to bowl league there. Leagues were coming in, so I couldn't throw many shots.

I went to a synthetic house at 9 when leagues were ending. As suspected, these balls were super strong there (I always get the strongest midlane and backend at this house). I was only using one lane and by the end of my 2 hour session, I was lining up between 50 and 60 and playing 5th arrow and left. Normally I'd throw my Taboo Spare at that point, but I was testing these balls out. All 3 seemed stronger than my Nightmare, but I really didn't throw that much. It is also drilled weak, using my one handed PAP.

I also have to say that I love the Diva. I figured it would be my favorite of the three, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It seemed to recover the most of the three balls. In fact, I often couldn't throw it far enough right (was a little sore after bowling 30 games or so this past weekend). I can't wait to try this ball in league tomorrow (at another synthetic house) and in match play at the tournament this weekend.

Glad I finally made the move to DV8. Going to be getting rid of most of my Hammer stuff now.
