OK This ball is unbelievable. You want hook than you better pick this one up. Got my seed ball yesterday and drilled it 4 X 3 1/2 pin under ring finger, cg down, hole on PAP. This ball just flat out hooks. Bowled on fresh house pattern at my home house and had to stand 10 boards deeper than I usually do, simply amazing. This ball doesn't stop hooking either, it just keeps hooking. It got decent length and made its move strong. You must keep this ball in the oil line and you will not be dissapointed, the hook is out of this world.

The carry is typical of DT, tremendous, this ball carried about 80% of my pocket hits. If you are looking for a great ball for oil than look no further, buy this ball, you will not be dissapointed. The balls from DT just keep getting better. I will say that this ball can compete with hook and carry power with any ball on the market right now. Bold statement, but true.

I drilled my Anomaly 4x4 and bowled on a THS that is 41 ft long. This ball is just awesome. It gets pretty good length for being a heavy oil ball and makes a very very stong move in the back and explodes the pins if you get it anywhere near the pocket. It is also a very forgiving ball because when I let a couple stray right of my mark it recovered nicely and got back to the pocket and still had enough engery to take down all ten. This is my first Dyno-Thane ball and I am very impressed. Thank You Dyno-Thane keep up the good work.

Lets start off by saying this is my first D/T ball and was curious to try one.That being said I bought the anomaly for heavier and longer oil patterns that I see the first shift of travel league.I recieved the ball as 15.3 pounds 2.75 top 3.25 pin.I drilled it 4x90 degrees pin low with the cg in the positive thumb quadrant and left it out of box finish.First time to try it was the day of travel league on a heavy oiled rapid changing shot.The ball was a bit long the first few shots so I scuffed it with a scotch brite pad to 800 and it was on from there.I shot a very respectable 674 the first set and swept the brackets.I was playing An inside tight swing to start 25-15 and was pretty much lined up.This ball had enough to read the inside oil and enough to finish through the pocket.I have had trouble finding a ball that would do both this one gets it done.Second set I had to move left to get it through the heads and stay away from every one else's wash or carry down.I was able to play the O.B with a weaker more controlled release that made the ball skid snap or flip.This set I only shot 664 to sweep the brackets again.

Now the negatives I dont have the ball any more.I let a friend try it out last night and he liked it so much he bought it from me for twice what I paid.I told him it wasnt for sale untill he kept going up on the price then it became for sale.Now I have to order two more and hope I can get them in before are next stop.This ball is playable from medium to medium heavy  longer oil and is ok on a long heavy oil.Not so great if you have no dry to get it to check up.

I just drilled my anomaly last week. My layout on the ball is 4x4 with the cg kicked out to the right. I have thrown the ball on several different patterns my conclusion was that this ball is very smooth and powerful on heavy oil,but if you bowl on normal house shots that have short oil patterns this ball wont do much for you because it burns out. I have placed in one tournament and won a few hundred in league in the first week with this ball. I have left the coverstock at box finish,I am very curios to see how the ball will react if I polish it .

specs of bowler:
  left handed
  better than average revs
  high ball speed

i drilled this ball with the pin under my ring finger in a 4x3 pattern
left it in the box condition and threw it on a modified house shot (pattern is a lil flatter than the normal house shot)...

 At first this ball was unbelievable.....  and the roll is still unbelievable.....  i have never had a ball roll through the pins like this one....  the problem i find with this ball is that after 10 games it seems like it has lost its massive backend that it had at first......

Now it works pretty decent on fresh backends (probably 4 boards weaker than before)  but when the oil carries down this ball is useless

on a scale of 1-10 with 10 beeing the best, i'd give this ball a 6.5

This is a quick review, because I could not find alot good to say about this ball. I got it because I heard it was supposed to hook alot, and I wanted this ball for carrydown.

This ball, FOR ME was not that ball. It had to have dry backends or it would not finish well. I tried changing the surface and nothing helped. When the backends were fresh though, this ball HIT really hard. But it lacks consistancy.

DRILL: 4x4


6.5 out of 10, because I atleast found a condition it would work on.

I just got the ball today. Love it, it hits hard and carry everything. Through 2 of practice with it shot 279 and 280. The lanes were wet and that is why I needed this ball. I used to use track but I havent had any luck. This is my third dynothane and I will never go to anything else

My first Dynothane Ball.  I bowl 3 games a week in a house that doesnt know how to maintain the lanes.  They tend to only use the oil machine to clean and strip the lanes, which are now synthetic overlay.  I do not believe they have or ever will actually use a real cleaner to maintain the lanes.  So our backends are semi dry in spots and the lanes are run with a 5 to 5 and cross wipe.   This ball is fun to throw,  I didnt practice with it prior to league, just took it out of my bag and started, so I had some release problems, my thing, not the ball.  I played straight up 7 with some speed and this thing roared on the backend and shredded that racks,  second game I moved into 14 out to 9 with some speed and the ball would skip, then grab the backend and just put all ten pins into the pit.  Only left 3 ten pins all night, though I did leave 3 solid 9 pins also.  I had the ball drilled to go long and be very aggresive on the back-end.

I had this ball about a month. I had a hard time with this one. I normally like strong equipment, but this was to much. I had this drilled pin below ring finger, cg kicked out. Out of the box this ball would read the lane in my backswing and then roll. I shined it with 2000 grit pad to a matte sheen. It still would read the lane very early and then roll. Finally I shined it with polish and and it would read the lane at the arrows make turn and roll. For me there was not alot of control with this ball. I don't think theres ever gonna be enough oil for this ball. High speed, lots of rev bowlers may like this one.

Had my Anomaly for a few months now, thanks Jim.  I have tried it on various shots and have changed the cover on it a few times to see what it would do.  I have had the cover at 600 grit to 1200 with polish.  The ball is drilled stacked leverage.

What I found was that the cover is very easy to adjust (Aren't most?) and that I prefer using it for it's intended purpose.

When I had it at 1200 with polish the ball went long and had a strong move to the pocket when it hit the dry boards.  I found that it would cover the same conditions as my THING at that surface.

With the ball in the out of the box condition I found it to be stronger then my Vendetta Particle.  (drilled similar by the way)  What I mean by stronger is that it would start up earlier and make it to the pocket when the Vendetta Particle would come in weak.  I tested the 2 against each other on various conditions, both wood and synthetic.

I won't go through all the different surfaces I tried but here is the last one.  At 600 the ball need oil, heavy oil, to work.  It would get to the midlane, start to read and make a nice move to the pocket on this condition.    

Right now I have the ball at 600 with Renew-it applied a few times.  My guess is that puts the ball at around the out of box finish.  I think the ball gets decent length with a nice move to the pocket on some of the heavy oil conditions I face.  The move to the pocket is more sharp then it is an arc.  I get great carry with this ball, my weak hits carry great just like my other Dynothane gear.  

In summary I feel this ball matches up to my game very well, as long as I use it on the conditions it's meant for.  The move to the pocket is kind of a split between arc and sharp...   the carry, as mentioned, is great especially on the weak hits.  Shot my highest game during league play with the ball, 279.  Yeah, I'm a hack!

Have used the ball regularly in one of my leagues for a couple of months and will say that is a very unique ball.  It is drilled 4x4, pin under ring finger, so the MB is to the right of the thumbhole.  I left the cover alone, so it is dull but not scuffed up.

This ball hooks early, and more than any other ball in the Dynothane line.  The thing about the ball is that there is absolutely no snap or hockey-stick action on the back end.  The ball skids for a short distance, and then begins to roll.  And the amazing thing is that it never stops ..... I have never had the ball roll out, but then again I only use it when there is a lot of oil.

For me, this is a great ball for a flood, but also a great ball on a fresh condition when there is major over/under.  That's because if the ball hits the oil, it will still hook .... and when it hits the dry, it doesn't make a complete left-hand turn and go to the beak.  Sometimes on over/under a ball will not make it to the pocket when pulled, and will overreact when pitched out.  The Anomaly opens up that shot for me, and because there is no violent back end reaction, the ball hooks but is controllable.

Picked this one up used from a friend of a friend. Specs:

15lbs
Drilled stacked, pin next to ring, cg in line below
Polished (Not sure of grit, but it's glossy)

  I had originally intended this ball to be my heavy oiler. Howver, I threw this ball polished first, and I liked the reaction so much that, once it was determined that I'd be getting an Ultimate Inferno, I decided to keep this one polished. Like the other Dyno balls that I've acquired, this one is a great piece of equipment. The polish makes the ball extremely clean through the front of the lane, but it digs in and moves hard on the backend, even when the oil is thick. With this coverstock prep and drilling, I can use this ball to open up the lanes from inside on medium to heavy conditions. It seems like it ignore out of bounds that other balls can't handle. It reacts very nicely to changes in hand position and rev rate, so I can attack from all angles with this bad boy. But grip and rip seems to be what this ball wants the most. The roll is good, the move is very strong and the hit is exceptional. Another great product by Dynothane.

Drilled yesterday

2-3 inch pin(pin under and swung right of ring finger cg also swng a little with a weight hole 3-4 inches from cg)

Results:House Shot(800 grit)Stood board 35 or 36 and threw it down fourth arrow out 5. This ball is so smooth that its rediclous> Not inconsisent like ppl say. It is not a skip snap ball, more of a skip countious arch ball(stronger than inferno) took it back to the place i subed playing 3rd arrow did same thing as inferno but it arch back to pocket with no remorse shot 246 230 250 for my first 700 this fall in league wise)

Overall: 10 out of 10 very smooth ,very powerful, very versatile

Drilled the ball 2 months ago, I am RH, fast speed, med-high revs, and medium tilt. At first I hadn't control the ball very well, so I put it back into the locker. Until last few weeks, the lane condition of our bowling centre has changed due to the new machine, I bowled with this ball again. Shot 241, 230, 220 (691 series) and my highest series 768 - 232, 257 & 279 at two leagues. Very powerful & controllable ball from Dynothane.
