Experience the power of Dyno-thane's SoakerTM resin. Building on the Tour proven success of the original is not an easy task. The new Element Au79TM has the perfect blend of Solid and Pearl Soaker ResinTM to deliver a strong midlane roll and a big backend reaction.

No need for smoke and mirrors, this ball flat-out performs. Don't look for the magic spots, it's unnecessary. Like its predecessor, the Element Au79's core is symmetrical. This translates to a ball that's easy to drill and even easier to rack up the big scores.

Lane Condition Recommendations
Medium to Heavy oil with carry down.

Other Details

Length: 17 out of 20
Backend: 22 out of 25
Coverstock: Pearl and Solid Soaker Resin Blend
Weight Block: Dynamic FBT
Colors: Red/Gold Pearl
D-Scale: 76-78
Weights: 12-16 lbs (the same core used in all weights)

I have mapped this ball the same way for 3 different players, a High track MED REV Player, Med High track High Rev player, and a Med track Med Rev Player.

PIN 4-1/2 FROM PAP
CG  4-1/4 FROM PAP
MB  BEHIND JUST TO RIGHT OF THUMB
JUST A LITTLE THUMB Weight

This pattern ooooopened the lane up. I have seen these bowlers miss right as much as 6 boards and left 4 boards at the arrows. On house and tourney shots as well. It recovers from outside misses and sits on inside misses.

IT IS LIKE HAVING A REMOTE CONTROLLED BALL. IT JUST SEEMS TO FIND THE POCKET AND CARRIES EVERYTHING.

AS FOR ME THIS IS A MONEY BALL. IT SCORES SO WELL I'LL ONLY US IT IN MONEY GAMES. WAY TO EASY FOR LEAGUE PLAY.

NOTE: IF YOU'RE A DUFFER AND WANT 20 MORE PINS FOR NEXT YEAR. GET THIS BALL.

I used to look at Dynothane as an inferior company compare to storm, ebonite, etc.  Fortunately, our high school program received a discount price for purchases of dynothane equipment so i decided to give the Au79 a shot.  I used a med to long drilling with a controllable/predictable backend reaction.  I kept the box finish on it.  I have not shot any outrageous scores with it yet (due to lack of spare shooting) but it is the first or second ball out of my bag every time.  Great carry for the most part and it reads the mid-lane well.  Overall great ball.

I had been thinking of drilling one of these for almost a year but never got around to it till now. Picked it up from have-a-ball league I drilled this ball as if the USBC RULE WAS GOING TO PASS. pIN IS AT 5 41/4 FROM pap ABOVE FINGER. cg IS LOCATED 1 INCH RIGHT OF CENTER OF GRIP GIVING ME 3/4 ENDING SIDE WEIGHT AND 3/8 FINGER WEIGHT.  (CG IS 4 1/4 FROM pap  I have thrown this ball in 3 different centers with similar results in each. Ball got through the heads very clean, picked up themidlane well and then made a massive move to the pocket was a little longer and more back end than my RS-1 or my Fired Up

I have this ball drilled with the pin just above my ring finger. Coverstock is "out of box" condition. I throw on synthetics standing on 21, skidding to 10, rolling to about 5, then a smooth arch to the pocket.  It's a very forgiving ball since I seldom bend my elbow and "aim" my shot.  This ball hits like an explosive it's so loud!  I would rate this ball an easy 9 out of 10 if you're looking for a ball that bridges the gap between control and skid/snap.

First of all this ball is driller with the...  oh who am I kidding?  It's a 15# X Blem with the pin marked as being almost on the complete opposite side of the ball as the CG, so I have absolutely no friggen clue how it's drilled actually.  Driller had to do his best with what he had to work with.

Oh well the price was right, and from my experience this ball "flat out performs, regardless of drill" as advertised.

I generally stand 3-4 boards left of the middle and throw this ball somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd arrow, and as long as there isn't too much oil this thing always makes its way back to the pocket.  Almost never leaves 10 pins and usually carries all the way from really light to really heavy pocket hits.  did have a couple of weird splits during the first few games with it, but attribute those to the "break-in" period for Soaker coverstocks.

This ball can tend to slide for to long and not break if their is a lot of oil on the lane, but is usually my first ball unless the oil is really thick.  Then I'll pull out my Vendetta Maxx which is much better suited to handle oil.

Overall I think this is a great ball and will probably pick up some more to experiment with different surface finishes.

Picked up an AU79 after returning from Team USA tournament.  Wanted a symmetric ball to try a Rico layout on and it fit the bill.  Layout was recommended by Ron Bragg of Brunswick for an Absolute Inferno.  Drilled the with pin one inch above center of grip with CG @ 45 degrees (2 inches right of thumb), placed weight hole 3" below midline on VAL.  I was worried about hitting finger holes as I am a high track bowler.  No problems with that however.

Layout has proven to be as versatile as advertised.  Gives good length with a strong but smooth backend reaction.  I have seen very little over/under with this ball.  Have bowled on old wood lanes with a variety of patterns, both THS and Sport compliant conditions and a couple of tournament shots on synthetic.  Home house is one that if you can score well there, you can score anywhere.  AU79 is fast replacing my Original Inferno as my go to ball for tough conditions.

Dynothane's Soaker coverstock has a proven longevity which is far better than any other coverstock manufactured on the market today.  If you only buy 1 or 2 balls a year or less you should take a hard look at Dynothane equipment.  It will last much longer than anything else out there.

Thanks for another great ball.  Keep up the great work "guys".

Where to start.. Ok, I won a raffle and got a Au - 79.
The Ball specs are Gross Weight 15lbs and 2oz. Top weight is 2.62 oz and Pin Placement is 2.5 to 3 inches. After checking the c.g. placement, the c.g. was in the right place on this ball. After setting up a pretty decent arsenal for most anything I bowl on .. I thought a Au - 79 would complement my Black Vendetta. Leaving the ball at factory surface, My proshop driller and myself decided to go with a 3 by 5 layout with no weight hole. This layout is the same layout I used in a V2 and with this ball with morre length and more backend I thought this was a good match.

Lane surface is old wood with bad heads and a gutter at the 7 board for the righthanders. More THS X - Mas Tree.

First Thoughts:
After using the wrong ball for the first half of the game I switched to the Au - 79 and Struck out with the back 4. I used the AU - 79 and opened up the lane with east push in the front part of the laned and a smooth backend end reaction. Games of 243 and 233 were nice also.

Will post more info after using the ball on Other lane surfaces.

Shot 300 with this ball and had 19 strikes in a row for 749. Great Recovery on this ball and push on the front part of the lane..

After drilling up an old Cure and loving what it gave me, I decided to give the Element Au-79 a look.

I made a mistake in getting a used ball with a funky drill and not redrilling the whole ball. Instead, I just plugged the thumb and tried to move it to a place I could use it. Didn't work all that well.

The ball was drilled with pin above and to the left of the middle finger, and the CG swung WAY out to the right. There was a small weight hole in the ball that ended up not very far away from my PAP. Since my PAP is a little further up and in than most, I definitely was trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

The end effect of the drilling was that I was bowtieing right in the middle of my palm almost, and clipping both finger holes and the thumb. The ball didn't do a thing but skate all the way to the pins. I could get some backend movement by laying my hand over to an extreme angle and almost spinning the ball, which pulled the track down a little and gave the ball a nice downlane projection with a bit of pop on the end.

Rather than post a full review, since that would be unfair to the ball, I'll just give generalities:

Positives -- Really good carry. The Cure is the same way. DynoThane cores do a good job of retaining energy and it shows in the pin carry department. Light hits, heavy hits, wherever the ball hit it did a good job of carrying. Also, the surface appeared to be very tunable. The ball gave me exactly what I put into it.

Negatives -- Not a lot of recovery right, even when I adjusted my axis and tilt.  Hold on pulled shots was just decent. And this may not mean anything to most of you, but the coverstock on mine and two others I've seen don't resemble the promotional photos at all. Not that it makes a difference in performance but I wish the ball companies would hire better photographers.

I just sold this ball to another BR.com member and I'm sure he'll have better success with it than I did. I'd be open to trying another Au-79 in the future but definitely not with the drilling I had on my first one.

Loved this ball so much I picked up a second one to complement my first one.  Went with a more standard 5 x 5 layout on this one with pin over the bridge.  Can you say go long and flip?  This ball is great when the conditions break down and you need to move inside.

Best on Med oil shot with slight carry down to tame the move off the break.  I love the recovery this ball privides and also the fact that this ball is an 04 model with good old fasioned (Storm resin) soaker technology.  If you can get your hands on one of these you too can be golden.

AU79 = one of the best Dynothane balls ever.  Get one if you still can.
