The Rev-X Pearl features the same condensed multi-density Flow-In Core with Power Band technology as the original Rev-X, producing built in mass bias and ample differential (.055). By condensing the weight block the RG is lower than any previous Dyno-Thane (2.495) for fast revving action. The built-in Power Band is marked with a locator pin and engraving, making the Rev-X Pearl easy to lay out for drilling and fine tuning accuracy. The Flow-In Core is surrounded by a solid outer core maintaining dynamic parameters throughout the weight range. The ball offers the same SH3-Plus coverstock as the original Rev-X. The Pearlized SH3-Plus cover offers high friction and is suited for medium to heavier oil. Matching the SH3-Plus material with the modified Flow-In Core, the ball is clean through the heads and revs up and gives generous recovery on heavier oiled conditions. For me, out of the box condition the ball would die too early on the lane conditions I bowl on. So, recently I polished it up, 1st sanding it w/ 800 grit then polishing w/ 1200.. What a difference! It gets through the heads cleaner and makes a u-turn down the lane and just annihilates the pins. I have it drilled up w/ pin @ 12 o'clock above the fingers and the MB 3" right of thumb for a drill pattern w/ length and  MB in strong position from flip on back end. I would recommend this ball to a stroker/tweener polished up. I am a very heavy hitter of the ball, so I do get 21-23 revs on the ball, but this would be a perfect ball for all groups actually. The low Rg gets it revving early and the med. differential sure gets it flipping on the backend.. Since people rate their bowling balls on this site, I'd give it an 8.75 out of the box 9.5 w/ it polished.

Well, I'm gonna have to post another review of this unbelievably hard hitting virtually unknown ball. BTM won't put another ball of the year column in their magazine, so I'm going to do it here. PEARL BALL of the year 2000 has to be Dynothane's Rev/X Pearl. This is mass destruction in a single reactive ball.

If you've read my previous review, you'll know that I polished it up after a month of being disgusted with the out-of-the-box sheen. I rev up the ball pretty good and with it being polished, lets it get through the heads cleaner and gets it further down the lane before it makes it's u-turn HARD HITTING drive towards the pocket.

The ball itself doesn't really send the birddogs. It's just the drive once it makes it's move, just doesn't deflect or stop whatsoever.

'99 saw the ball of the year in the Meteor Flash. I see 2000 being this little known gem of a ball called the Rev/X Pearl.
