I haven't heard any word on this.  The Thing Returns is a pretty successful ball, as are all in the Thing series.

I would think the original Thing would be discontinued first, since it was released first.  Maybe replace it with an all solid coverstock version?

The ENERGY should go longer than the Thing Returns and cover just as many boards in the backend.   I really wish I had one of the test balls to compare it with.  I've received five PMs about this ball after the announcement of the Group Purchase.

I'm expecting a complete series with this core and the Soaker ATC. The international folks tested the ball and pushed to have this ball released as soon as possible.  2005 with a bang!

Hmmm... by looking at the specs AND the Dyno Thane ball reaction charts, it looks like the Thing Returns would go longer and have more backend than the Energy... I've heard some say this and I've heard some say what bamaster is saying... so I'm confused!

Can Phil (new guy) or anybody clear this up?

I don't see how anything that goes longer than the TR could be considered an all-purpose, all-terain ball, which is how the Energy is being billed; doesn't make sense to me either, Tony.

What say you, "guys"?

Ditto Goof1073... I have a go long and snap TR (actually longer than my VP). I'll wait until one of you guys punch it up that way before I punch mine.

I do need a strong pearl reactive drilled for control though ...

I might have misspoke.  Talked with DT today about this and they are confident that the ENERGY will fit more between the Thing Returns and the Thing Lives.  Should go as long as the Element Au79, but will hold its initial axis much longer before it starts to flare.

The ENERGY's reaction will most likely shine when the lanes get flaky.  The ENERGY will be cleaner through the heads than the Au79 when the heads start to dry out.  It should also make the turn a little harder since it should make it's "flip/flare" so much later and aggressively.

They "guys" will post here later.
