Sweet Jesus, it's almost not fair. I got this baby punched this afternoon and took to the lanes immediately. The condition was the leftovers from last night's league. I was told that it was 40' of solid volume. The backends were still fairly clean. To put it in simple terms, this ball rocks. I was able to try this ball all over the lane with great success. I was able to stand left and turn the ball up to swing the lane, and I was able to stand right and fire the ball up 2nd arrow with little hand with equal success. When I went deep the ball was able to glide through the heads, read the midlane and make a sweeping, continuous march toward the pocket. The hit on the ball is another thing. With the continuous hook that it presents, I was afraid of pinging 9s and 8s. This is not the case. The ball sets deep into the pocket and just blasts the pins off the back of the deck. I've heard people compare this one to the Ultimate Inferno, but, as a person who's thrown both, I think this one gets the nod. In box finish, the Thing Lives clears the heads more easily than the UI, but it also turns the corner better. If you're looking for a reactive to play straight and dig into a flood, you may have to give it more surface. However, if you want a reactive that you can swing through the sauce, this one is for you. This is another great product from DT.
