Threshold coverstock?
« on: September 23, 2006, 08:07:21 PM »
The website calls it "Pearlized NexGenâ„¢ Reactive with MicroParticles", but there's no mention of "Soaker". I had thought all their premium balls used the Soaker technology. Is this a first? I just ordered one, but now I'm re-thinking that. Along with oil handling, I assumed I'd have the "goodness" of oil dissipation. (Yes, I Know, "when we assume ....")

Is it or ain't a Soaker type coverstock?

Threshold is not of the Soaker family, the first premium ball that has not had a soaker cover. The next Soaker will be out in Nov with the Element Ne. It will handle all the oil you can find to roll it in. The cover is so versitile with the exception of light short oil you adjust the surface, reminds me of a cresent wrench. You won't be dissapointed.....

But, Steve, I already have the Threshold on order ...
Oh, well, it'll probably make a left turn in oil.

I believe Dynothane wanted to try the Columbia Resins before they made an actual "Soaker".

If that cover is the equivalent of Track Peak Particle formulation or the Machine's Fang LS, then I suppose I could live with it.

our own new blend. Performed perfect with the core. Next one will have the soaker added. Can't put all the goodies all at once.

This ball seems to exhibit "soaker-like" characteristics like break in and "getting stronger w/age". Mine performs better now than OOB.
