naw.. I wouldn't worry about the water... I think you are safe there. I've had some experiences with Ebonite polishs where they really cut down on the overall hook of the ball (even backend)... I typically get this with the factory finish or extender polish though... the particle poslish usually doesn't "kill' the ball. I would guess this may be just due to lane conditions and/or carry down, although it sounds like the ball (being plugged a few times) may have a number of games on it.... so it may be a good time for oil extraction & resurface. If you want a polished ball, I would try maybe wet sanding to 600-grit and particle polish with very light pressure, just enough to get a shine on the surface...
