Just got the Anomaly today. Everything I have has the pin low and is set for pretty early roll, except for some pearl reactives. I decided to drill this ball 4.5x4-----pin above the ring finger and slightly right.

After the first 3 games I am very satisfied. It gets down the lane great as long as there is oil present, once the track area of the lane began to dry up I simply moved my feet a couple left and and my target a couple left. Awesome recovery if I missed outside. I was very suprised to see how angular the Anomaly is for a dull ball. And the pins just disappear when it explodes into the pocket.
It seems to take very well to hand position changes or release changes, which is a plus, because alot of the equipment out today will not respond if you try a weaker release, it will simply recover and hook hard.

I loved the THING.....and so far I think the Anomaly may be a ball that I like more.

To compare this to the 2 other Dynothane balls I have thrown, it is much more angular than the Element I have drilled with  4x4 (pin under) drilling, and much more violent at the pins. It is much sooner than the THING, but stronger on the backend. For an oil ball I see this ball as a great read for the lanes. Due to my ball speed I will be able to use this ball much longer than those with slower ball speeds. The Anomaly is not a one ball arsenal, you will need something for when the lanes are on the med-med dry conditions

I will post a full review once I get some more games on it.

EX.....very nice report. I especially like the parts where you remind bowlers that this ball (as are many made today) is conditional. I have mine drilled similar, and it's reaction is great, but once I feel that I have had to move over too far, and/or have to start bumping up the speed, I start looking in the bag. jimensminger, Happy Holidays to all,

Boy, you don't hesitate a minute, do you?
Glad to hear this ball with this drilling is reacting this way for you.
Gives me a good idea how I might want to drill one if I get one.

I was there getting somethings for customers and figured "what the hell". It really had come down to getting this or the Black Cherry Bomb, I think I made the correct Decision. And I made the decision at the right time also.

In comparison to Phenom Unleashed, it is more angular and just about as strong at the pins.

I am extremely happy with the ball, and my second night out with it starts in 2 hours.

I think you made the right decision also. I'd hold off on the BCB for a little bit, anyways unless you want to be tester for Lane#1 ...

These are high words of praise from a strong Track user
(wasn't quote sure how to word that; "devoted Track lover" is too strong a phrase to describe you and, I think, not entirely accurate.)

I am infact a devoted Track user, however, I am not above trying other equipment if it catches my eye.

I am not going to try a ball because everyone else likes it. That is certainly not me at all. Thus the reason I did not really try the X Factor.

I also do believe that the location of the MB is very important, and that balls that have them clearly marked and accurately spun are a plus. I mean the MB location is extremely important-----that is probably why Dynothane has the MB placements on their drill sheets.

Dynothane is awesome. I believe they have taken a huge step forward with the soaker coverstock, and the newer cores are great. I caught quite a few bowler's attention lastnight throwing the Anomaly (first night out), they asked about it and what it was ect.....one guy even said he tried Dynothane a few years ago and didn't like it. I responded with "well, what they have released in the last year to 2 years is pretty good.

But, once again, about me....I will try anything that is interesting, and does not follow the norm in the industry.

I wanted to add a couple of things. First, I still like this ball, actually I probably like it much more now than when I got it. This next statement (which will probably not hold true for most, and does hold true for me because of my ball speed) is about carrydown. I used the Anomaly lastnight on the standard house shot where I bowl, and it started off just as before, HOWEVER, I had 2 lefties on my team, and we were bowling one of those teams that comes out and gets drunk, and all of them throw plastic. They were all over the lanes, eventually by the 3rd game they pushed oil all over my break point. I moved right, and the ball overreacted moving my breakpoint out only 3 boards. It did not handle the carrydown very well. NOW, I know I could get it to do so, but I am not by any means going to do anything to the coverstock on this ball. I feel wet sanding it to 800 would work awesome on carry down, but I have other equipment for that purpose.

Simply stated, this ball is great. My dad turns the ball alot, and only throws about 14mph. This ball would be an oiler for him easy.
